Herd Of Blues - Heavy Tracks (1999)

                                                                    Herd Of Blues
Herd of Blues is a six-piece band from Trenton, New Jersey, that brings to its listeners a tasty blend of classic and original Chicago-style blues and R&B. For those who love to dance to solid, houserockin' music, Herd of Blues bring to their audiences an infectious, rollicking "house party" atmosphere that invites audiences to jump to their feet and get happy on the dance floor. Influenced by the likes of Buddy Guy, Otis Redding, Junior Wells, Aretha Franklin, Paul Butterfield, and the late blues guitar greats Albert Collins and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Herd of Blues pays homage to the urban electric blues and R&B traditions, lightly seasoned with their own personal touch of funk and fun. A Herd of Blues performance features a wonderful mix of unique interpretations of timeless classics, lesser-known cover tunes, as well as a wealth of original tunes that have become requested favorites of the band’s loyal following. Since forming in 1994, the Herd's exciting live act has garnered them praise from the press. The Star Ledger described the Herd of Blues performance in front of thousands of fans at the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Festival as "a party-hearty set of blues and R'n'B that had the crowd dancing." The Two River Times summed up a gig this way: "Look. You don't have to be a big time blues fan to dig these guys. If you like to dance, have fun, or just breath, Herd of Blues is your kind of band.
