 Murali Coryell is a triple threat contemporary blues artist who can sing, write and play guitar with the best in the business. As the son of guitar legend Larry Coryell, Murali grew up around the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, & Carlos Santana. In 1995, Murali joined Duke Robillard’s touring band and was quickly signed as a solo artist resulting in the stax/volt influenced “Eyes Wide Open”. In 1999 Murali recorded “2120” for Marshall Chess in which Rolling Stone named Murali “One promising new hound”. Over the years Murali has toured with father Larry Coryell and Joe Louis Walker as a featured artist and appeared many times as supporting act for B.B. King. "Murali’s latest CD "Sugar Lips" reached # 5 in 2010 on the Living Blues Radio Chart was recorded in Nashville with Tom Hambridge producer of Buddy Guy’s latest Grammy winner. Featuring special guest stars Joe Louis Walker and Larry Coryell, Cortney Harding of Billboard called it “one sweet triptych across the musical map”. The CD received rave reviews in Living Blues and Elmore Magazines and also resulted in a Murali Coryell feature in Guitar Player Magazine.  Lorenzo Sanchez is a guitarist from the French professional blues scene.
His Andalusian origins, his artistic encounters, the strong musical influences of the great masters of the blues, from Jimi Hendrix to Ry Cooder to Derek Trucks, shape in him an original, African-American musical form.
Founder of the legendary group Miguel M & The BBB, winner in 1999 of the major national Chesterfield Café competition (jury composed of Thierry Ardisson, Yvan Le Bolloch and Peter Kingsberry), which gave rise to the recording of the album “Live at the Chesterfield Café ".
His experience on stage has been enriched by collaborations with musicians such as Fred Chapellier, Johan Dalgaard (Cali, Gaétan Roussel, Johnny Halliday...), Philippe Brohet (Juliette), Greg Szlap, Mike Greene, Manu Codjia, Dave Crow & Andrew Balcon (Heymoonshaker).
Combining sensitive, inventive and powerful guitar playing (nominated twice in the “10 best blues guitarists of the year” in 2000/2001 - Euroblues), with singing in Spanish and/or English and Spanglish.
He was led to participate in musical aesthetics mixing French song, jazz, with other artists (carte blanche to Dorothée Daniel with Anne Sylvestre, Agnès Bihl, Yves Jamait, Aldebert at the Scène Nationale “Le Nouveau Relax” etc. - residencies Hélène Labarrière, Hasse Pulsen, at “Château de Faverolles”).
His music is a mixture of blues, soul, jazz and rock roots, sometimes tinged with Indian or Hispanic sounds enhanced by his slide playing on the guitar.

Entitled “Man On A Mission”, Harper’s debut CD is a must for any of you young punks that think they’ve obtained an honorary degree in suburban blues from your hardened lives of buying Gap crap with your mommies’ credit cards. Billy Lavender - Memphis Livin (2009)

 Another one of those great albums that you could simply say GREAT when reviewing it. While this is extremely accurate, there is a bit more to be said about this. Billy Lavender is called 'Memphisser' and is a rich, powerful guitarist with bass strings on the bottom and sound and has been doing this for over 40 years. Somehow, it feels like he fulfilled some kind of dream with this “Memphis Livin’” album. He has a very well packaged Blues album here, full of different types of blues including soul.
He is with his friends and Steve Bryson of I55 Productions LLC, their were geniuses and played local music like guitarists Brad Webb, Reba Russell, harmony player Blind Mississippi Morris, organist Russell Wheeler and all the others, mentioned below, this expressive album was released. This means: This diversity allows you to see outside the box and get to know and better understand different styles and varieties. And just listening you can feel the fun and joy of all the musicians playing together.
The album is enhanced by the sophisticated guitar work on all 14 tracks, with Lavender and Brad Webb complementing each other very well. Billy Lavender participates in both original songs and projects, with a variety of pieces and great diversity, which makes this CD exceptional. It's already on the ground, it's in Europe, there's no blues world in Memphis, so you can hear it at this musical level.
The CD started with a title, which initially reminds me of Bruce Springsteen's E-Street Band. A normality of things related to Bluesttrack. Tony Adams' great blues voice, a masterclass of female backing vocals and also Brad Webb's slide guitar make this piece shine in a blues light so bright it leaves you dizzy.
This shows the quality of the CD, which lasts until the last note. "Let's Party" was released as Blues Shuffle. I remember the R'n'R track by Rebecca Russell and Wanda Jackson, "Let's Have A Party", also thanks to that great voice. And the music has even more: there is powerful harmonica played by Blind Mississippi Morris, the Hammond organ by Russell Wheeler and an action - Billy Lavender on guitar. Highlighting an individual here would be other unused songs. Very strong music!
In "Tonight", Ken Dinkins sings with his impressive and soulful voice to the magic of Billy Lavender's guitar. Brad Webb plays bass and bass with Russell Wheeler's B-3 organ. And damn, bring the music brings a third style to the race.
Grooving funky, also something new and instrumental, now you can relax for three minutes and fifteen seconds. More or less dominant, Vince Johnson on harmonica and Mike Stoker on bass. Good to hear and enjoy.

Vince Johnson continues his great harmonica on "Cold As Ice", "...your love is cold, Baby, ..." reminds me a lot of "Stormy Monday Blues". Here, however, there is so much harmonica that it melts all the ice and is sung with such passion by the player himself. Billy Lavender spoke with beautiful solos enriching this title once again. An iridescent part.
"Get Along" is a real banger, it really rocks, Russell Wheeler without piano, sung in the style of Jerry Lee Lewis and Billy Lavender and also the singing, as well as playing the guitar.
And now it's better: In addition to Reba Russell's great vocals on this ballad (“Blue”), you can hear Brad Webb on sitar. Dan Cochran spoke the bass, which stands out very pleasantly. There is also the possibility of major trauma, which can also be achieved over the course of several minutes, while the second part of the story ends very smoothly. This sadness lasts for a short time, and Vince Johnson also combines it with the harmonica and singing. And he honks the horn again, saying it's a real joy. And Lavender is not inferior to him on the guitar. There's a quick blues change in the middle, before there's another really good, great ballad, "Bottom Line", again featuring Reba Russell, who fits the ballad perfectly vocally. The organ is softly in the background, the guitars of Lavender (6 + 12 strings) and B.Webb (baritone guitar) do not stand out significantly in the foreground; here is the voice, the gently convinced one.

“Bad Boy” is played in a funky, rocking way. The world's fastest son, Tony Adams, sang here with strong encouragement-and the title was registered for his encouragement. I don't need to say anything about Billy Lavender's left-handed guitar playing, that speaks for itself!!
Soulful is in Memphis-Land, Vince Johnson in Barry White's vocal style, he has a great horn, B. Webb and B. Lavender which is not guitar, and at 3:00 in Memphis-Land. What about everyone who is a woman? She seems to deserve it. Nice and easy, at a medium pace and it's already six minutes after 3am.
“All The People” sounds like the Beatles, Lavender’s vocals are a mix of John, Paul and George and with “If I Could” he goes even better. This would easily pass off as a Beatles stunt double to me. Short and slightly more superficial music tracks, well, the messages are important too - "...every person in the world needs love...", that's right!
The ending is a really dirty, dirty blues, dragged through the swamp. In addition to Tony Adams, Billy Lavender tightens all the strings on the guitar again, it hums and crackles when I turn up the volume. The man can't seem to pull himself together anymore... and suddenly it all ends, just like that. A low hissing sound comes from the speakers, my index finger points to the play button and... let's start again!
It was, I must say, great, simply successful, the role!

The Paladins - Let's Buzz! (1990)

 The Paladins are an American roots rock-rockabilly band from San Diego, California. Founded in the early 1980s by guitarist Dave Gonzalez and his high school friend and double bass player Thomas Yearsley, they have recorded nine studio albums and built a reputation as a hard-working live band.

The Paladins started out as a rockabilly band during the rockabilly craze of the early 1980s. Their tagline at the time was "Western & Bop", as they played a combination of rockabilly and vintage country. Their lead singer and rhythm guitarist was Whit Broadly. With this lineup they did their first recording, a contribution to a 1982 local compilation album, Who's Listening?, and a song two years later on The Best of L.A. Rockabilly, a 1984 Rhino Records LP. Their first LP, The Paladins, was produced by Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and was released in 1987 on Wrestler Records. Their second album, Years Since Yesterday, produced by Los Lobos' Steve Berlin and Mark Linnet, was released on Alligator Records in 1989 and had sold more than 20,000 copies by the end of the year; the band shot a music video for the title song at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California for $30,000. Spending most of their time on the road, by 1989 they had already toured with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Los Lobos, The Blasters and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. They toured abroad as well; in the summer of 1989, between recording sessions for the third album, they played in Europe for the month of June, including shows at the Peer Music Festival in Belgium and the World Music Festival in London. 

In 1990 the Paladins released their third record, Let's Buzz, "an invigorating blend of rockabilly, blues, rhythm-and-blues and country" recorded in the Los Angeles studio of 1970s soul star Leon Haywood (who also played keyboards on the album), produced again by Steve Berlin and Mark Linnet[4] and released by Alligator. Acclaim came with a nomination at the 1990 Entertainer Music Awards (San Diego County) for Best Rock 'n' Roll, Original Music, for which they were a critics' favorite (they lost out to Beat Farmers). They won the award two years later, a year after winning the San Diego Music Awards. Touring continued relentlessly at home and abroad; in 1991, for instance, they toured Australia for three weeks. Shows were reviewed as fun, lively performances where band members would solo, swap instruments and even occasionally encourage audience members to play instruments. 

The Paladins appeared to have come to an end in 2004 when Gonzalez wanted to focus on different musical interests after having formed an alt-country band Hacienda Brothers. Thereafter a number of live albums and a live DVD were released with the band sometimes described as being "on hiatus." 

While touring with his current band, the Stone River Boys, Gonzalez joined Thomas Yearsley and Brian Fahey at the Ink & Iron Festival in Long Beach, California in June 2011 for a Paladins reunion concert, the band's first US concert since 2005. The Paladins have reconnected, recorded new songs for an upcoming album, and have recently released a "Paladins - Best Of" album. They have played The Rhythm Collision Festival in Riverside, California, and have toured throughout Europe.

Arny Kay Band - Walkin' On Thin Ice (1992)

 Born in Germany in 1947, the German-American rock and blues guitarist grew up in Gurnee, Illinois, north of Chicago. After spending his school education in Germany, he returned to the United States in the mid-sixties.

In the following years, he played in clubs mainly in the Chicago area, where he used to live. He was heavily influenced by the Chicago blues scene of those years, coming into contact with well-known artists such as Little Wolf, Homesick James, Son Seals, Lonnie Brooks, Luther Allison, and many others. In 1978, he established permanent residence in Germany and has now lived in the southern region of Germany for several years. In the eighties, Arny Kay was often on tour with his long-time friend Luther Allison, who passed away in 1997. Their cooperation resulted in the production of an album "Rockin The Blues", released in 1987. Today, Arny has his own unmistakable personal style of playing guitar, combining influences from Jimi Hendrix, Freddy King, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughan and, of course, Luther Allison.

Cherry Red's Grapefruit imprint is a reissue label that tends to devote itself to issuing high-quality single-artist career anthologies, rare albums, and various overviews of segments in British popular music circa 1965-1974. Crawling Up a Hill: A Journey Through the British Blues Boom 1966-71, asserts that the U.K. explosion ran concurrently with the country's emergent psych and garage scenes. That's true, but it was less formal and more primal. It derived its inspiration from pre- and post-war American bluesmen including Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Elmore James, and Muddy Waters, as well as from the dying British jump R&B scene established by Alexis Korner, Graham Bond, Long John Baldry, Cyril Davies, etc. John Mayall was getting his Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton to the charts as well, Duster Bennet was hanging around with Peter Green, and artists such as Jo-Ann Kelly, Mike Cooper, and Ian A. Anderson were reveling in country blues.

While there have been many British blues anthologies, the vast majority tend to be single-label projects rather than scene-wide curatorial efforts. This three-disc, 56-track box is the first attempt at a comprehensive overview. On disc one, the Bluesbreakers are represented by Willie Dixon's and Otis Rush's steamy, raw, "All Your Love." The previously unissued title track is offered by with sass and verve by then-new and always unheralded Zany Woodruff Organization (who later hosted guitarist Allan Holdsworth). Tracks by Bond, Jeff Beck, Love Sculpture, and early Fleetwood Mac, Ten Years After, and the Deviants round it out. But there are surprises: Duster Bennett's demo for "Jumping at Shadows," made immortal by Fleetwood Mac, and the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band delivering a scorching, humorous, barroom strutter called "Can Blue Men Sing the Whites?" There is a smoldering Korner jam here too, titled "Operator," with a very young Robert Plant on vocals. Disc two contains a smoking acoustic version of "Death Letter Blues" by Mike Cooper, as well as "It's You I Miss," by the Christine Perfect Band (aka Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie), the swampy, modal blues-rock of Levee Camp Moan on "I Just Can't Keep from Crying," Taste's "Blister on the Moon," revealing Rory Gallagher's early guitar genius, and tracks by Blodwyn Pig and Chicken Shack, as well as a host of obscurities including Quiet Melon's rarity "Diamond Joe," featuring the pre-Faces Ronnie Wood, Kenny Jones, Rod Stewart, Ian McLagan, and Ronnie Lane. The final disc includes a scorching, live, "A Hard Way to Go" by Savoy Brown (with Chris Youlden), Stone the Crows' "Raining in Your Heart," the Edgar Broughton Band's "Old Gopher," Skid Row's "The Man Who Never Was," an early example of dual-lead proto-metal blues with guitarist Gary Moore (Phil Lynott was their original vocalist, but not here), and Status Quo's early boogie exercise "Railroad," with obscure numbers byLinda Hoyle (a rousing "Mr. Backlash"), a ragged "Road Runner" by Stack Waddy, and a rare live take of "I'm a Man," by the pre-pop Yardbirds. The set is adorned with copious, authoritative liner notes by compilation producer David Wells, and contains wonderful photos and brilliant sound. Crawling Up a Hill is essentially the definitive British blues compilation. Its amazing cross-licensing and skillful presentation leave very little out, yet covers all major and most minor artists on the scene with careful attention paid to stylistic variation.

The songwriter was born in western North Carolina placed in the midst of an eclectic music scene ranging from bluegrass to rock, and beyond. Eventually all of his influences aligned to form his bluesy sound, and he hit  the road. Ross has played blues shows with notables such as Jimmy Thackery, and Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. He also shared the stage with legend Buddy Guy. There’s no doubt his style of musical soul searching will allure listeners.


Let’s not forget the driving pulse of the band, Patrick Gaynor. Growing up in New York, he was constantly pulled in by the hypnotic southern sound of the Allman Brothers. A sound which lures listeners in on songs like “Fools Gold” off of their album titled “Glenhead Station”. Patrick eventually moved south to find a band that could satisfy his blues cravings.


The Ross Osteen Band is fully anchored by the distinct force of Andy Bishop on bass. Andy is a multi-instrumentalist and owner/operator of Giraffe Studio for many years. He is the perfect complement to this power trio, and his contribution really heightens the music.


Since the Ross Osteen Band started in 2014, they have played a number of shows from Georgia to New York to Chicago, with a very memorable appearance with Buddy Guy on one of their songs titled “Hold Back”. All the while, growing a local fan base in western North Carolina. They released their self titled album in 2015, followed by their second release “Glenhead Station” in 2016. The band just released their latest single “Mannish Boy” from the upcoming album “Williwaw”. Ross Osteen Band continues to hone their sound into an energetic blend of blues, roots, and southern rock.

Johnny Winter - Remembrance II (2017)

 Johnny Winter (1944–2014) was an American rock and blues musician. From 1959 to 1967, he recorded several singles for mostly small record companies in his native Texas.[1] In 1968, Winter completed his first album, The Progressive Blues Experiment, and in 1969, he was signed to Columbia Records.[2] With the label, Winter had his greatest success on the main American record chart; Johnny Winter (1969), Second Winter (1969), Live Johnny Winter And (1971), and Still Alive and Well (1973) all reached the top forty on the Billboard 200 album chart. In 1974, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified Live Johnny Winter And gold, his only record to receive an award from the organization. 

Beginning in 1973, Winter's music was issued by Blue Sky Records, a Columbia custom label. At Blue Sky, Winter also became a producer and was responsible for releases by Chicago blues pioneer Muddy Waters. He produced Hard Again (1977), which earned Waters a Grammy Award and helped re-establish his popularity. In the years after 1984, Winter changed record companies several times, never remaining with any one for more than three albums. These included Alligator Records, MCA Records' Voyager subsidiary, Point Blank Records, Virgin Records, and Megaforce Records. In 2007, he began producing a number of albums from his personal recordings, designated the "Live Bootleg Series". Winter's last studio album, Step Back, released shortly after his death in 2014, was his most successful in the record charts since his Columbia period. Several live albums and compilations have appeared on Billboard's "Blues Albums" specialty chart. 

Throughout his career, Winter's recording catalogue was plagued by bootleg albums and unauthorized re-releases of singles from his early pre-Columbia Records days. These records competed with his official releases and some were doctored with later overdubs by other musicians. Royalties were not Winter's primary concern: "I just don't want that bullshit out ... It's just bad music."

 Ike Turner Presents The Family Vibes released Strange Fruit in 1971 on United Artists. It was Ike's first album using the moniker; Presents The Family Vibes. It is a really nice LP. Like several of his wonderful albums around this time (Confined To Soul and Bad Dreams), he utilizes many different styles and all of the cuts are very interesting. "Heep-A-Hole-Lot" is acid psychedelic rock if you can believe it. R&B, swing, rock...this album has got everything. Recommended. Mark Yokel

Chris Mulkey - Bringing Down The House (2023)

 Chris grew up in the midwest with a guitar in hand, Chuck Berry, Elvis, and the Supremes in his head. He spent a night trading jokes with Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters called him son at Nick's Blue Note Lounge, he has sat in with Los Lobos, and still has Janis Jopin's kiss on his lips. He takes these experiences along with inspiration from Buddy Guy and Louisiana jump, to makes music about the American experience that's fun to move to.

Chris lives to play live. He's has played clubs and celebrity events all over the United States. His band Deluxe had a year long residency at the House of Blues on Sunset, and can still be seen rocking at the HOB Las Vegas and Anaheim. He plays yearly stadium gigs at Mardi Gras in Lake Charles Lousiana, The Celebrate America Show at Santa Monica College, and The Music City Fest in Nashville. 

As a long time Hollywood actor and proud ASCAP member, he has sold several songs to movies and television.

Chris has the Mississippi River in his blue veins, railroad wheels in his heart, and believes we are one in the groove.

 Daniel Thurmer developed meticulous technique and a refined sound through instruction from Warner Brothers Studio hot shot guitarist, Robert Papasian, who trained him from the age of 14. The early influence of rock, Danny Thurmer has been playing Grateful Dead music since first seeing the Dead in 1977 at the age of 15. He has been the leader of DeadSet for five years and was a founding member of the "Tattered Rose Band", a pre-DeadSet Boulder Dead group. Danny is the winner of The 2002 New Mexico Mic awards, country and bluegrass can be felt in Daniel's five CDs of original music. In recognition of outstanding contemporary production, Daniel received the 2004 New Mexico Mic Award for his song “Midriff”. Over time, his sound has continued to evolve to reflect a more global influence.

Davide Pannozzo - Born Electric (2012)

 Inspired by Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix before he was even born, Davide Pannozzo has since gone on to be described by critics as one of the most interesting artist’s of contemporary Blues guitar.

After studying Classical Guitar at the age of six, he later went on to graduate at Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome and has since performed at a number of clubs and festivals in Italy (Pistoia Blues, Ameno Blues, Blues in Town, Accadia Blues etc.) and abroad (Bass Player in Los Angeles, IBC in Memphis, Ronnie Scott’s in London, Fete de la Musique in Paris, International Jazz Fest in Bucharest, Taubertal Festival in Frankfurt etc.) and played alongside artists such as George Benson, Alex Britti and David Garfield to name but a few.

On top of this Davide Pannozzo has also won the Emergenza European Acoustic Festival as Acoustic Solo Guitarist in 2009, followed by the Groove Master Award for Best Italian Blues guitarist in 2010, and most recently the Highland Uproar competition where he received hundreds of votes from listeners of the station in Scotland.

Famous are the collaborations with Maestro Pippo Caruso for the TV show "Domenica IN", with the Oscar-winning Maestro Luis Bacalov for the work Mediterranean Harbor produced by Walt Disney, and the masters Franco Piersanti and Nicola Piovani.

The release of his new album Born Electric (EmArcy/Universal Music) is likely to increase his profile even further with very special guests as Robben Ford, Pippo Guarnera, Carl Verheyen, David Garfield.

Nathan Beretta - Love Taxman (2024 )

 Nathan Beretta has made his mark in the Australian blues scene with multiple award winning blues band Blue Eyes Cry. Touring and playing just about every Blues festival and venue in the country Nathan has earned respect from blues lovers all over.

From a ripe young age Nathan Brett had been raised in a musical household of blues, jazz and soul enthusiasts. Nathan quickly developed his own unique style of blues and began gaining interest and making his impression in his local town of Woolgoolga. Playing with friends and locals at open mic nights and owning the acoustic around the fire, there was deep seeded focus to pursue music head on. Nathan moved to Melbourne in 2012 to open up new opportunities and broaden his horizons in the famous Melbourne music scene where he formed a classy original blues/soul band on lead guitar with singer/songwriter Iseula Hingano called Blue Eyes Cry. Blue Eyes Cry undoubtedly made their mark in the Australian blues scene winning multiple awards and playing popular venues and Festivals to the likes of the infamous Melbourne Blues Train, QLD Gympie Muster, Queenscliff Blues Train, International Blues Music Day, Queenscliff Music Festival, Docklands Blues Music Festival, Get Your Blues On, Woolshed Lawns, Goulburn Australian Blues Music Festival, Windsor Blues & Roots Festival, Deep South Festival, Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival, New Zealand’s Bay of Islands Blues & Roots Festival, Lazybones Lounge, Peninsula Blues Club, Cooroy Originals Festival, Edwards Tavern Blues Festival just to name a few. Nathan has shared the stage with professional artists such as Geoff Achison, Terry ‘Harmonica’ Bean, Ray Beadle Band, Mal Eastick Band, Shaun Kirk, Dreamboogie, The Shane Pacey Trio, Jesse Valach/Blues Mountain and many more, trailing a strong collaboration of dedicated fans and well deserved industry respect along the way.

Heavily influenced by artists such as Ronnie Earl, Albert Collins, Albert King and Buddy Guy, Nathan plays from the soul with an “all killer no filler” approach and after taking a year off music, Nathan is back on a mission to put the edge back in into the blues with his classy, simple yet technical clean vibrato bending guitar solos full of humble emotion and fronting his soulful voice with his own originals that has proved awe inspiring to listeners and musicians alike.

Jimmy Lee Morris - The Mojo Filter (2023)

 An eclectic writer and singer of songs, Jimmy Lee Morris has been weaving songs into hearts of those happy to listen for 40 years. Songs have been sung from folk clubs to festivals, around the UK & Europe. Played in blues band Mojo Filter & rock 'n' roll band The Collaborators. In the 80’s was lead singer for synth band À La Tienne & at turn of millennium was half of the folk duo The Hat Band.

A melodic bluesy album which has an engagingly warm sound of a band performing and recording together, shoulder to shoulder in a cheap sweaty studio. Inspired by my 1990’s rhythm and blues band, Mojo Filter, in which I sang and played bass guitar. We had a lot of good original songs which featured in our many live sets over those years. It’s nice to have them together again freshly recorded after all this time.
