Brian Knight - Blue Eyed Slide (1991)

 Blues singer and harmonica player Brian Knight (1939-2001) is counted as one of the initial members of The Rolling Stones. Co-founder of Brian Jones first band together with Ian Stewart and Dick Taylor (later Pretty Things) among others. Musical disagreement with Jones, who fancied Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry while Knight was a Muddy Waters follower, led to his departure from the group - later to be replaced by Jagger and Richards. He formed his own "Blues By Six" band, frequently with Charlie Watts on drums, and spent the following years touring and playing London clubs. In the seventies he continued with Bradford-Knight Blues Band. Always a high profile act on the English blues circuit Knight has performed with many known artists through the decades, as Rick Wakeman, Peter Green, Paul Jones, Zoot Money, Ronnie Lane, Charie Watts, Chris Farlowe...and many more. After two successful decades of touring and performing he finally got to record his debut in 1981on the independent label PVK Records. The album is a mix of standard blues and rock numbers as traditional "white blues", sometimes reminding of early British R&B from Cyril Davies or Alexis Korner. It features Dick Heckstall-Smith (Colosseum) on sax, Peter Green on guitar and Stones own Charlie Watts on drums.

 Recorded 15 years ago, 'Rockin' The Vanguard' was an accidental live record, in that the band had no idea that we were being recorded. Felix the sound engineer at the Vanguard at that time handed me a mini disc after the show and said 'Good show, you can thank me later!'
It's worts and all and pretty rough but a good solid performance by the band. If I recall correctly, this was actually my first solo gig at the Vanguard. We supported the great Steve Prestwich who played a stellar set that night including a stripped down version of 'When the War is Over'.

At his side, Mister “P” clings the strings to the guitar, Ludovic Timoteo holds the bass and “Fabulous Fab” makes his drums dance. The founding members were joined by virtuoso Julien Stantau (on the keyboards) and the incredible PaK (the trombone maxi). Their style? A soul “vintage”, with modern arrangements that flirt with original rock and New-Orleans Funk with a breath of french touch which is coming from our land called “Béarn Pyrénées”

Lucky is currently involved in promotions and touring as far as New Zealand, Australia, and all across the United States.He attributes his style of music to the influences of Albert King (whom he resembles), Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, and Santana. His live performances are energized and exciting.  While entertaining he roams into the audience with his guitar screaming, delighting his fans.

 The return of the old partnership! Dennis Siggery and Neil Sadler were the creative force behind the first 10 albums by the Eric Street Band (before Dennis started working with the new band which recorded the 'Purple Passage' & 'Eye Of The Storm' albums).

This new album, 'Half & Half' sees the return of the old partnership, featuring the unique vocals of Dennis and the guitar and production talents of Neil.

Half & Half is partly new original songs by Dennis and Neil - so if you loved the old Eric Street Band songs, you'll love these - and partly their reworkings of the classics 'Little Red Rooster' - a big hit in the 60s for the Stones, 'Unchain My Heart' - made famous by Ray Charles, 'Handbags & Gladrags' - famously used as the theme for The Office, and Dylan's 'Knocking On Heaven's Door' - with an extra verse written by Dennis.
