The 3 is a rock trio based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma that is made up of musicians from California and Pennsylvania. The 3 write, record and perform a unique and exciting mixture of modern classic rock, rockabilly and blues rock, often featuring Christian themes in a manner found on recordings by Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr. and other classic artists. The band members are: Dave Sharo (lead vocals & guitar); Mark Hine (drums); and Colin Stewart (bass). The 3 issued its debut album "Into Light" on June 25, 2015. Gospelbilly is The 3's second album.

Moreland & Arbuckle - Caney Valley Blues (2005)

 Fusing elements of Hill Country, Delta and Chicago blues Moreland, Arbuckle & Floyd have grown a reputation for power and commitment that stretches well beyond the trio’s home base of Wichita, KS. Drawn together by a deep appreciation for traditional music guitarist/vocalist Aaron Moreland and vocalist/harpist Dustin Arbuckle founded the band in 2003 and quickly became an authentic but innovative act. In its powerful live shows the award winning trio––which also features world class drummer David Floyd––pays homage to blues masters such as R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, and delivers an already vast body of inspired originals such as “Don’t Bother“ and “Caney Valley Blues” (appearing on their debut CD Caney Valley Blues - released January 2005) and “Don‘t Need No Whiskey“ and “Ta Blues.” (appearing on the unit’s 2004 sophomoric CD Issues Up Top, King Snakes). It is those very live performances that have been fundamental in the group’s success. In 2003 the band won the Wichita Blues Society’s Blues Challenge (competing as the King Snakes) and traveled to Memphis, TN the following spring to compete in the International Blues Challenge (IBC), gaining great reviews. The following year Moreland & Arbuckle––won the 2004 Wichita Blues Challenge and went all the way to the finals at the IBC. This insightful 11-song release features “Slow Version,” “Ezy Ryder/Star Spangled Banner,” “Jam 292,” “Trash Man,” “Message To Love,” “Gypsy Blood,” two versions of “Valleys Of Neptune” including a solo electric guitar rendition and a piano solo, “Blues Jam At Olympic,” plus the original unedited versions of “Drone Blue” and “Jimi/Jimmy Jam” from the long out-of-print 1980 release Nine To The Universe. Hear My Music marks the first time these recordings have ever been released in their original unedited format.

Darrel Nulisch - The Whole Truth (1998)

                                                               Darrel Nulisch
 This disc blurs the boundaries between soul music and the blues even further for this hot Texas singer, who was raised in the Dallas area listening to all that Texas has to offer. Now based in Boston, this singer runs the whole gamut of emotions with his experienced and well-traveled tenor voice. He has also put together a crack band that stays with the song wherever it goes. Be it deep-down Chicago-style blues as on "At-Cha-Mama-Nims," a harmonica-driven instrumental, which he penned with his long time bassist, Steve Gomes; or the fantastic cover of R.C. Hammond's "There Goes That Train," a slow Southern soul/blues cut that leads off this disc. Nulisch has served his time and his resume is impressive, being the singer both for Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters and for Anson Funderburg and the Rockets, as well as his own band Texas Heat. He is well-traveled, and his voice is expressive, capable of wringing out all the emotional angst that there is to be had in a song. His harp work is better than average and truly shines on "Like Reed." The album stays together very well until you come to the last cut, "Lyla Tov (Good Night)," a jazzy noodling that seems out of place. Also this disc gives notice that Jon Moeller, who handles the guitar work, is going to a force to be reckoned with in the future. Just give a listen to George "Harmonica" Smith's "Telephone Blues" and try to convince someone that this sizzling work won't be shining somewhere in the future. The band is good and does justice to the fine material picked out for your aural pleasure.

Bill Kirchen - Tied To The Wheel (2001)

 American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He was a member of Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen from 1967 to the mid-1970s and is known as "The Titan of The Telecaster" for his musical prowess on the guitar. Kirchen's signature sound has been dubbed "dieselbilly" and incorporates elements of country, blues, rockabilly, Western swing and boogie woogie, laced with themes of American truck driving music.

Johnny Yard Dog Jones - Ain t Gonna Worry (1996)

 At the age of 55, Johnny Yard Dog Jones finally had the opportunity to lead his first record date in 1996. Originally a gospel guitarist, Jones gradually made the transition to becoming a blues singer who also played harmonica and just a bit of guitar. His singing is likable and full of emotion as he explores a set of music that emphasizes 1950s-style Chicago blues, along with occasional soul ballads, but as it turns out, guitarist Johnny B. Moore unintentionally (and consistently) steals the show. A much stronger soloist than Jones, Moore's fiery statements are the main reason to acquire this disc; he is quite a powerhouse. Also on this worthy set are pianist Detroit Junior, bassist Bernard Reed and drummer Kenny Smith.

The Western Sizzlers - For Ol' Times Sake (2013)

 Ok it’s not a new record, it’s already been 7 years but friends trust me if you want a record of people who can play like god commands, you love the southern rock of the States, the genre called southern, the one that also has so much taste of country and cowboy, the one to dance in the saloons (there are also some in our latitudes now). Here is this For ‘Ol Time Sake is the record you need to enliven your evenings! These musicians do not invent anything but the sound is as American as you can imagine and you will be amazed, listening to it, knowing that the group is more english than american since the two creators of this divertissement are Kevin Jennings and Rick Richards, former producer and former guitarist of the Georgia Satellites, english with the soul redenck but especially friends of the great Charlie Starr, lead guitarist and singer of Blackberry Smoke, I mean, one of the biggest American rock bands of the day straight out of Atlanta, Georgia. Add to the guitars also the son of the legendary Steve Marriott, Toby here you will have a band of respect that but has fun working and great. All this was born from a sleepless night of Jennings, quarrels with his girlfriend and drunk, but of those that then leaves you a refrain in your head when you wake up, a draft of text and that little music that does not go away. The next phone call with his friend Starr who yells at him to record it was born One More Beer, evocative title and that groove that never leaves you again. Funny rock with southern soul and splash of country. Try to stand still while you listen to it, beautiful in its simplicity. A work of 12 pieces with a cover that is a tribute to the other passion of Jennings and that is the Status Quo, an english monument to rock and roll party, with Break The Rules. Very successful tribute I would say and just the english band you think when you listen to the Sizzlers maybe after a session with Lynyrd Skynyrd and Highwaymen. There are no masterpiece pieces, but you really play here, dirty riffs and tight rhythmic and although at the time Starr’s Blackberry Smoke, were only at the beginning of their success (they had just released one of their best records The Whippoorwill), a song like Keep Smilin’ could easily be mistaken for one of their songs so strong is the southern flavor. He swerves to the dusty plains of Texas with Sugar Pie, just to make it clear that the love for the music of the South of the United States is 360°, but then starts the killer riff of I’ll Die a Happy Man If It Kills Me and you find yourself dancing in a wild way to the room as when listening to Don’t Stop by Status Quo in the clubs revival of the past, the feeling is that, the fun is assured. It’s all here, simple and crystal clear, you play to have fun and have fun, nothing fancy or intricate : three chords and the truth. A record that I recommend to all those who do not want thoughts, but look for rock fun but certainly quality, there are no misunderstandings three chords but played by absolute talents. And then what are you waiting for press play and go wild for the room or the boards of a dusty saloon, if you’re lucky. Long live rock and roll!

Tommy Schneller - Cream of the Crop (2014)

 Tommy Schneller and company’s newest release is a nostalgic throw back to the days of horn sections and big band swagger.  As a native German speaker, he sings very well in English, and is well versed in the different styles of Blues and R & B.  The album, Cream of the Crop, is a wide mix of the genre’s and is crisply recorded, riding the line between familiar Americana and tasteful tribute.

Cream of the Crop comes out of the gate with a couple bluesy numbers, “Hands in the Air” and “She’s Good to Me.”  Both sound like a night at B.B. King’s on Beale St, which, depending on whom you ask, could be a good or a bad thing.  “Cream of the Crop,” the title track, is a bit of a swing number, where Mr. Schneller lets us know that he ain’t settling for just any ol’ lady, claiming all he has to do is sit by the phone and the “cream of the crop” will come a callin’.  “Super Hero” comes next, and it’s here that the album, and band, fall into a groove that seems more fitting.   Somewhere between Randy Newman and James Taylor, the adult contemporary sound fits Schneller’s voice much better, and it’s at this point he’s at his most charming.  And who doesn’t love a good ol’ Peter Parker reference every now and again?  “Isn’t It New” is another stand out track in the same vein, and seems to be made for wedding first dances, with Schneller dropping his playboy attitude and crooning “forever I will care for you.”  “Your Somebody Else” has shades of John Mayer’s Continuum album and is Schneller mixing his bluesy cockiness in with his endearing self-depreciation.
Tommy Schneller is a fantastic saxophone player and his voice is capable of both a low grit and a chiming smoothness.  His band is tight and well-rehearsed, it’s hard to judge what is probably an incredible live show on such a small batch of recordings, but still, the polished nature of the album helps fit with Schneller’s front man professionalism.  While this album certainly isn’t for everyone, there is solid songwriting and strong musicianship.   Anyone that’s a fan of big band Chicago blues or late B.B. King would not be disappointed giving these guys a listen.

Ray Beadle is the genuine article, his music comes deep from the heart and soul, stirring emotions in people with his guitar genius. Ray’s music is rich with a deep history of the Blues;
Rich from 20 years of experiences garnered from performing Nationally and Internationally;
and rich from a deep understanding of his instrument and how to make it stir something within the listener. He knows that’s what the Blues is about.
Ray’s life as a musician started when he was just 9, and for the next 20 years, Ray has played with and learnt from the best, including many years spent performing and recording with the Foreday Riders; (commonly referred to as the ‘University of the Blues’). Any money made from this site will be donated to the Austin Hospital who looked after Paul so often.

 Morning Symphony Ideas is an extraordinary collection of previously unreleased studio and home demo recordings.

Dagger’s two previous releases, Live At The Oakland Coliseum and Live At Clark University presented the original Jimi Hendrix Experience on tour at the peak of their powers. Morning Symphony Ideas places its focus on Jimi’s songwriting and his unique approach toward developing new material at home and in the recording studio.

These six 1969 and 1970 studio and home demo recordings reveal the earliest stages of Jimi’s songwriting technique.

Skinny Jim And The Number 9 Blacktops - Hickory - Smoked - Rockabilly (2005)

 Playing what has been dubbed as "motorcycle rock 'n' roll or hot rod rockabilly", this Illinois trio takes the groove of traditional rockabilly and mixes it with raw rock power. "Its just chick-getting rock 'n' roll!" says singer/guitarist Jim Rotramel, crediting Dallas Alice's frontman Sean Hopkins with the nickname "Skinny" (its from an Eddie Cochran song), the Number 9 Blacktops take their name from an old country road outside Rotramel's hometown of West Frankfort, Illinois. "We'd drag race CR 250s until our knuckles bled," says Rotramel. Rotramel released the band's freshman album "Hickory-Smoked Rockabilly" in 2005. It was the 2007 sophomore release, "Horsepower! Horsepower!" that opened doors for the band. The album was produced by Rick Miller from the trashcan Americana band Southern Culture on the Skids. Rotramel became a Gretsch endorsed artists in 2008, and also did his first show with Chuck Berry.
"Daredevil Action", the band's third album, was recorded at the Sound Kitchen in 2010. This album started the transition from rockabilly to more of a motorcycle type of rock 'n' roll. "I was getting very bored with rockabilly, and wanted to turn my amps up louder!" says Rotramel.
In January of 2013, the band released "Cool on my Right". The album was produced by Supersuckers frontman Eddie Spaghetti. "I opened for Eddie at the Hangar 9 in Carbondale, IL a few months earlier, and the next thing I know he's agreeing to produce the new CD. It was an amazing experience, and the album is the best stuff I've ever written" says Rotramel. "Cool on my Right" is what The Number 9 Blacktops are all about: witty lyrics, great hooks, and rocking Gretsch tones. The band recently played a few shows with the Supersuckers, and just got back from a tour in Germany and Belgium.

Junior Wells - Universal Rock (1981)

 He was one bad dude, strutting across the stage like a harp-toting gangster, mesmerizing the crowd with his tough-guy antics and rib-sticking Chicago blues attack. Amazingly, Junior Wells kept at precisely this sort of thing for over 40 years; he was an active performer from the dawn of the '50s until his death in the late '90s. Born in Memphis, Wells learned his earliest harp licks from another future legend, Little Junior Parker, before he came to Chicago at age 12. In 1950, the teenager passed an impromptu audition for guitarists Louis and David Myers at a house party on the South Side, and the Deuces were born. When drummer Fred Below came aboard, they changed their name to the Aces.

Little Walter left Muddy Waters in 1952 (in the wake of his hit instrumental "Juke"), and Wells jumped ship to take his place with Waters. That didn't stop the Aces (who joined forces with Little Walter) from backing Wells on his initial sessions for States Records, though -- his debut date produced some seminal Chicago blues efforts, including his first reading of "Hoodoo Man," a rollicking "Cut That Out," and the blazing instrumentals "Eagle Rock" and "Junior's Wail." More fireworks ensued the next year when he encored for States with a mournful "So All Alone" and the jumping "Lawdy! Lawdy!" (Muddy Waters moonlighted on guitar for the session). Wells was already exhibiting his tempestuous side -- he was allegedly AWOL from the Army at the time.

Hoodoo Man BluesIn 1957, Wells hooked up with producer Mel London, who owned the Chief and Profile logos. The association resulted in many of Wells' most enduring sides, including "I Could Cry" and the rock & rolling "Lovey Dovey Lovely One" in 1957, the grinding national R&B hit "Little by Little" (with Willie Dixon providing vocal harmony) in 1959, and the R&B-laced classic "Messin' with the Kid" in 1960 (sporting Earl Hooker's immaculate guitar work). Wells' harp was de-emphasized during this period on record in favor of his animated vocals. With Bob Koester producing, the harpist cut an all-time classic LP for Delmark in 1965. Hoodoo Man Blues vividly captured the feel of a typical Wells set at Theresa's Lounge, even though it was cut in a studio. With Buddy Guy (initially billed as "Friendly Chap" due to his contract with Chess) providing concise lead guitar, Wells laid down definitive versions of "Snatch It Back and Hold It," "You Don't Love Me," and "Chitlin' con Carne."

On TapThe harpist made his second appearance on the national R&B lists in 1968 with a funky James Brown-tinged piece, "You're Tuff Enough," for Mercury's feisty Blue Rock logo. Wells had been working in this bag for some time, alarming the purists but delighting R&B fans; his brass-powered 1966 single for Bright Star, "Up in Heah," had previously made a lot of local noise. After a fine mid-'70s set for Delmark (On Tap), little was heard from Wells on vinyl for an extended spell, though he continued to enjoy massive appeal at home (Theresa's was his principal haunt for many a moon) and abroad (whether on his own or in partnership with Guy; they opened for the Rolling Stones on one memorable tour and cut an inconsistent but interesting album for Atco in the early '70s).

Come on in This HouseToward the end of his career, Wells just didn't seem to be into recording anymore; a pair of sets for Telarc in the early '90s were major disappointments, but his last studio session, 1997's Come on in This House, found him on the rebound and the critics noticed: the album won the W.C. Handy Blues Award for Traditional Blues Album in 1997. Even when he came up short in the studio, Wells remained a potent live attraction, cutting a familiar swaggering figure, commanding the attention of everyone in the room with one menacing yelp or a punctuating blast from his amplified harmonica. He continued performing until he was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer in the summer of 1997. That fall, he suffered a heart attack while undergoing treatment, sending him into a coma. Wells stayed in the coma until he passed away on January 15, 1998. A handful of compilations were released shortly after his death, as was the film Blues Brothers 2000, which featured a cameo by Wells.

Tre' ‎- I'm Through With The Blues (2008)

 Tre´is the son of L.V. Banks and had a great debut CD on JSP. He was also on Chicago´s TV with his hit “I´m A Bluesman, Baby”! He mixes Blues with Soul and is a good songwriter! He is one of the few southside musicians from the younger generation who still like to play the Blues!

 The latest release on our Bluebeatmusic label is a collaboration with BIG JON ATKINSON & his studio, BIGTONE RECORDS.  Recorded in 2017, this set features Darrell playing & singing straight blues with a killer band that includes Danny Michel, Ronnie Smith, Robert  Welsh & Marty Dodson.  Darrell has always made great records and this could be the finest blues recordings he has made since his band Texas Heat.  Recorded using vintage equipment & knowledgable players the set reflects a deep seated understanding of what to play and how it should sound.
