Sean Walsh Band - Velvet Sessions (2006)

                                                               Sean Walsh Band
The Seán Walsh Band is a hardworking honest blues rock band. Live the band stands out for their emotion and conviction. This power trio, as in the time of Jimi Hendrix and Rory Gallagher, grabs the audience by the throat. The grooving rhythm section; Edwin van der Burgt (drums) and Kai Liebrand (bass), forms the backbone for the raw vocals and guitar of singer-songwriter Seán Walsh.

The debut album "the Velvet Sessions" was released in November 2006. Followed by an international tour through the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland. The Seán Walsh Band previously shared the stage with bands like "Guy Forsyth" and "the Fabulous Thunderbirds". The band has also performed at several major blues festivals and in venues such as 013 Tilburg.

Buzz Clifford - Norse Horse (2002)

                                                                  Buzz Clifford
Buzz started his recording career in New York back in 1957-58 when he was 15 years old. He recorded two singles for Bow Records, a part of King Records. He then was signed by Mitch Miller for Columbia Records in 1960. With Columbia he had a Top Ten Hit with "Baby Sittin? Boogie" produced by Tony Piano in 1961. "Baby Sittin? Boogie" placed #6 with Cash Box #9 with Billboard and #3 with Music Reporter. Although the record went gold, with no follow-up hit he was classified as a "One Hit Wonder" and was dropped from Columbia in 1962.

After leaving Columbia he started to write seriously. He went on to record one record for Roulette Records. "No One Loves Me Like You Do" produced by George Goldner. It charted in England?s top twenty in 1962-63. Toured in England with Dion, Del Shannon and Freddie Cannon in 1962.

After returning from England, Buzz moved to California in 1964. Played with various bands, wrote and produced independent masters sold as singles for various labels. No hits. Was then hire as a writer in 1967 by Richard Delvey (producer of Wipe-Out) for MGM Records, BMI publishing company Hastings Music where he wrote "Echo Park" for Keith Barbour, recording for Epic Records in 1969. Echo Park became a Top 40 hit and because of the songs? success Buzz was able to record his own album for Dot Records, "See Your Way Clear". With nothing happening with the album was released from Dot Records in 1970 although the album had critical acclaim.

Lost writing gig moved to Tulsa, OK, worked and recorded with some of Leon Russells?s players, and various blues groups, some who are now members of the Tractors. Back to LA.

In 1974 wrote "Ain?t That I Don?t Love You", which Freddy King, the great blues singer and guitarist recorded on his last album before he died. Produced by T-Bone Burnett and Darrell Leonard long time friends of Buzz.

Back in LA in the mid-seventies, worked with one of the original Beach Boys, singer-guitarist David Marks. No hits but still learning. In late seventies went to Portland Oregon of more of the same. Back to LA in the late eighties. Recorded David Marks? "Dave and the Marksman" CD with producer and writer Daniel Moore whose hits include "My Maria" for Brooks and Dunn and "Shambala" for Three Dog Night.

Still no bites and more blues groups which include one with his sons Reese (drums) and John (bass). In 1998-99, Buzz went to Denmark and recorded his CD of "Norse Horse" with James Rasmussen who also produced "Echo Park". In 1999 learned Beck has used "I See I Am", from his "See Your Way Clear " album and renamed the song "Milk and Honey" for his Midnight Vultures album. Buzz received half writer?s credit and the album went Gold.

In September 2001 hooked up with Anna Montgomery, (who Buzz considers to be a great singer/songwriter) for live gigs and recordings. Astounded and pleased at how good producer Evan Frankfort is at his craft.

Various artist who have recorded some of Buzz?s songs: Clyde McPhatter, Lou Rawls, The Lettermen, Morgana King, Freddie King, Keith Barbour, David Marks, Daniel Moore, Beck, Anna Montgomery.

Raw Hide - Hugger - Mugger (1994)

                                                                      Raw Hide
One of the most persistent rhythm and blues bands was formed in 1982. The leader of the group, Jovan Ilic, had performed for years with numerous bands in his native town of Sabac, as well as Belgrade. With the creation of the band, called “Raw Hide”, he started to explore both traditional and contemporary aspects of the blues. After frequent changes of the musicians, the band finally settled down as: Jovan Ilic (vocal, harp), Vladan Stanosevic (guitar), Ivan Stanosevic (guitar), Darko Golic (accoustic bass) and Blagoje Nedeljkovic (drums). At the beginning they played only standards, but in time they have built up a lot of their own compositions.

Their first single “All night long” was released in 1987 and contained four compositions of their own. At the time the band often played in ex Yugoslav republics, which contributed to the quality of their performance.

In June 1988 they performed at Belgrade Blues Days Festival, where they accompanied Todor Todorovic and Louisiana Red. In August they played at the blues festival in the Italian town of Gorizza, and in November they played with Johnny Mars and Mick Waller at the Nineteenth Belgrade Jazz Festival. In September 1989 they took part at the Lehrte Blues Festival in Germany. In June 1991 they performed again with Louisiana Red at the Summertime Jazz and Blues Festival in Belgrade. At the time they released their second single “No Place to Go”, with four rhythm and blues standards. In January 1992 they accompanied Dave Kelly in his Yugoslav tour. In August of the same year they took part at two blues festival in Hungary, in Budapest and Tatabanja. At the end of the year they were present at the first blues festival in Thessalonica; afterwards they accompanied Ronald Abrams in his tour round Yugoslavia. In May 1993 they performed at Blues Napok Festival in Seged.

In early 1994 were among performers in the compilation “Belgrade the Blues Today Vol. 1” (PGP RTS). In the same year they released their first CD “Hugger Mugger” in their own production, having as guest the pianist Vlada Maricic, and Ivana Pavlovic and Neda Markovic as vocals. Besides standards, the CD contains original compositions of Jovan Ilic.

In July 1994 they played at two-day open air festival in the Vojvodina village of Ada, and in November at the First Jazz Festival in Sabac. In February 1995 they were present at the Blues festival in Thessalonica, and in July they played with Magic Slim at the Summertime Jazz and Blues Festival in Belgrade. In November 1996 they played at the Belgrade Marsoni Blues Festival with Gary Sloan. During Sloan’s stay in Belgrade they made their second CD “Gypsy Moon”, which came out in early 1997. Gary Sloan sang back vocals, played the harp and produced the whole material. In the Jovan Ilic’s theme “Doin’ My Thing”, Sloan has the role of the lead singer who tells his story about the sojourn in Belgrade and work with Raw Hide. The guitar player Ivan Stanosevic also took part as a guest in the recording of the CD.

During its career the group Raw Hide has built up an image of a club band; besides taking part in festivals, they regularly play in clubs. Moreover, they are recurrent  participants at jazz and blues festivals in Serbia.

A. G. Weinberger - Good Morning Mister Blues (1996)

                                                                A. G. Weinberger
In search of a destination guided by passion for music, AG Weinberger became the only non-American artist invited to participate in the famous Bluestock Festival in Memphis, USA, and the only Romanian artist nominated for a Grammy in 2007 - in 2006 he appeared in debut absolute for Romania “Nashville Calling”, the artist's first album, recorded and produced entirely in the USA, an album that was nominated for a Grammy in 7 categories).

Currently considered the only landmark and authority in the music field, AG Weinberger is a voting member of NARAS (National Academy for Recording Arts and Science) - a Grammy-winning organ, is a member composer affiliated BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.), member affiliate of The Blues Foundation based in Memphis, TN, USA, chairman of the jury of the "Carpathia 2008" Rzeszow, Poland interpretation festival, and a lifelong member of various fraternal organizations in the USA.

In the mid-1980s, Weinberger made the transition from rock guitarist to blues guitarist, promoting this musical genre ever since. In 1986 he started his career as a blues soloist, founding together with Harry Tavitian (piano), Corneliu Stroe (drums) and Catalin Rotaru (bass) the first blues band in Romania - Transylvanian Blues Community. Ignoring the censorship of the communist regime, the four managed to tour Romania, where talent and the fact that they were not part of the culture promoted by the state, filled the concert halls to the limit.

Only in 1996, however, was his first blues album released in Romania, called "Good Morning, Mr. Blues."

His own blues, jazz, soul and funk compositions flow with a discreet grandeur from all of his albums - Good Morning, Mr. Blues (1996), Standard Weinberger (1997), Transylvania Avenue (1999), Nashville Calling (2006), Guitar Man - Vol. 1 (2008), Guitar Man - Vol. 2 (2008), Singular (2015), Mighty Business (2015), Reborn (2018).

The Slight Delay - 50 Shades of Blues (2019)

                                                                   The Slight Delay
Originally founded in Chur in 1982, the combination took a short break from 1989 to 2016. Now the blues rock band is active again and on tour.

You're on the road with blues-rock covers from the sixties and seventies. They play several titles from bands like Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Yardbirds, Status Quo and Gary Moore. This is mitigated by the successes of ZZ-Top and several classics by other blues and rock artists.

With a classic lineup - two guitars, electric bass and drums - they tour strictly in mono through Switzerland and - if necessary - also through Europe. Only the sky is the limit, Martin likes to say ... They are clearly addicted to the British blues of the 60s and 70s and see themselves as a somewhat outdated but no less motivated boy band, popular with many women. Unfortunately they have not yet been discovered and the cut of the star Bravo is also to come.

Today there are two original members, Roli and Dave, complemented by two champions who have also been active for around 40 years. Look forward to blues rock with heavy guitar! While Dave and Martin are the undisputed posers of the band, the more introverted Chris and Roli take it easy. Since boys are in their fifties and are not particularly handsome, they inevitably make an extra effort to play. Each woman who appears on the edge of the stage is greeted frantically and rewarded with a smile. This applies especially - but not exclusively - to attendant daughters who may bring beer from time to time.

You are absolutely right here if your artistic agency cannot suggest anything useful. If you are looking for a blues, rock or better yet, a bluesrock band in your restaurant, on your occasion or at your event, at your party, in your concert hall, now you have reached your goal! Angry! The Swiss blues rock band likes to relive the good old days. When someone turns 50 or older, they will certainly enjoy the sound.

Bobby Radcliff - Early In The Morning (1985)

                                                                    Bobby Radcliff
"FIVE STARS!...Not since Stevie Ray Vaughan's first set has there been such a smashing bow by a blues-rock guitarist."
"downbeat" magazine

"Conventional musicritese - scorching, blistering, pyrotechnical and all that jive - fails to convey the heat in these grooves. More than heat, this platter's got muscle. A tightly coiled, spiky, New York kinda muscle. It's a new kind of blues, daring, dangerous and devastating."
Andy Glass in The Music Paper

Peter Veteska & Blues Train - Grass Ain't Greener On The Other Side ( 2020)

                                                                   Peter Veteska
New Yorker Peter Veteska learned to play guitar by listening to Eric Clapton and Duane Allman. He played his first gig at the age of fifteen but as he grew older his tastes turned toward Jazz. He reconnected with his passion for the guitar in 2008. Veteska formed the Peter V Blues Train in 2013 and gained popularity with his third album, 2017’s “Running Out of Time”. He followed up a year later with “Shaken But Not Deterred”.

Veteska decided he would depart from the band’s previous blues/jazz/funk format and go with a purer blues sound, changing the band’s name to Peter Veteska & Blues Train. Veteska, guitar and vocals, is joined by the only other original member Alex D’Agnese on drums. The two new members are bassist Coo Mo Jhee, and keyboard sensation Jeff Levine who toured with Bo Diddley, Wilson Pickett and Joe Cocker. Guest musicians include harpist/vocalist Mikey Junior, vocalist Jen Barnes, guitarist/vocalist Roger Girke, and bassist Chuck Hearne.

The band started recording in March but stopped when the Covid-19 pandemic intervened. Veteska states “what could have been a setback instead became an opportunity to fine tune some tracks and record three additional…” The album was engineered by Joseph D’Maio at the Shore Fire Recording Studio in Long Branch, New Jersey.

Five new songs were written by Veteska, and an additional co-written. Also included are four re-arranged covers. Mikey’s wailin’ harp opens “Am I Wrong Pretty Baby” as a bewitched Veteska sings “am I wrong pretty lady to want to hold you tight, you got me doin’ crazy things, morning, noon and night”; Mikey takes the first solo, guitarist Veteska the second, and organist Levine the third. “Running Like A Dog” features lyrics by Patti Martz, bassist Hearne, and several extended guitar solos. The swinging “I’ve Been Missing You” features Veteska on an acoustic, Levine on piano, and Mikey’s fabulous harp. “You Give Me Loving” is a great vocal from Veteska with Levine’s B-3, another guitar solo, and D’Agnese applying the glue. My favorite is “Thinking and Drinking, without you” with another great vocal and guitar solo, and Levine’s B-3. On the “Grass Ain’t Greener On The Other Side” Veteska sings “well I got this feeling deep in my head” as the band completes the production.

“Baby, You’ve Got What It Takes”, originally performed by Dinah Washington and Brook Benton in 1960, is re-imagined as a guitar driven vocal duet between Veteska and the Jersey Shore’s Barnes. “Learning The Blues” first recorded in 1956 and later sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, features a lounge-like vocal from Veteska. “Heartbreaker”, the 1958 Ray Charles’ classic, is a fine performance featuring Veteska and guitarist Girke trading solos. “You Don’t Love Me”, written and first recorded by Willie Cobbs in 1960, was further popularized by The Allman Brothers in 1971; Veteska’s rhythm guitar laying the groundwork for his vocal and Levine’s B-3.

Veteska surrounds himself with some great supporting musicians giving us his best recording to date. We look forward to hearing more from him soon.

J. Monque'D - After The Beep (2000)

                                                                    J. Monque'D
New Orleans bluesman J. Monque'D knows how to roll with the punches. Send him to prison for stalking his ex-wife and he makes a CD out of it. The title cut, "After the Beep," is a reference to the many messages he left on her answering machine inquiring as to the whereabouts of their daughter. Monque'D is joined by some of New Orleans' top musicians on this recording. Blues diva Marva Wright makes an appearance, along with Earl Turbinton on soprano saxophone, Willie Panker on drums and backup vocals, Jack Carter on bass and backup vocals, Jack Cole on guitar, Tom Worrell on piano and backup vocals, and Michael Ward on piano. Together they create a distinctly New Orleans sound, both lyrically and musically. The characteristic backbeat of the city is in evidence on Panker's drums, while the words of the songs speak to a big easy experience. The opening number is a case in point: Monque'D pays a musical tribute on blues harp to his city's biggest holiday with "Harmoni Gras." This cut, along with many of the other songs penned by Monque'D, are perfect vehicles for a man who is a master of the harmonica. "And Now, Bologna" and "Fiddlin'Women Blues" showcase both the blues harpist's expertise on his instrument and his penchant for humor, which has made him a favorite in clubs and at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Awesome is the only word to adequately describe J. Monque'D's performance on the 12-minute masterpiece "If You See Kay." Ward and Turbinton are standouts on the catchy tune "No Doubt About It." Monque'D and Marva Wright harmonize on the delightful "Indian Princess," another musical allusion to the unique Mardi Gras traditions in the city of New Orleans. After this beep, the message is all good music.

Smiling Jack Smith - Second Chance (1997)

                                                              Smiling Jack Smith
Jack Smith was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and grew up in Staten Island, New York. Starting out as a tap-dancer and a singer, he traded in his tap shoes for a guitar at the age of twelve and began writing and composing his own songs almost immediately.

He spent the sixties as a folk singer, working with a vocal group called The Smith Brothers (there was one woman singer in the group, but what the heck), that reached its peak when they made a demo for CBS with the legendary John Hammond, Sr.

The decade drew to a close with the formation of the now mythical band Orville Dorp, which migrated to Vancouver in the early seventies.

The band had it’s share of fame with a song called “Jesus Marijuana” which they released as a 45 rpm single, and then passed into history around the time that Jack was given the name Smiling Jack by some friends from a band called Stallion Thumrock.

The name stuck, and Jack stayed in Vancouver for 20 years, becoming a Canadian citizen and raising a son, MacKenzie.

During this 20 years Jack formed a number of interesting groups, from Smiling Jack and the Sparklers through Delta Airtight and ending up with a four piece vocal group called Party Fever, which released an album titled “Ah!… Capella!” in 1988.

Then Jack moved back to the States for a while, singing a bit of country music in Florida and then living in New Jersey again where his focus finally settled on the blues. His first solo album, “Direct To Dat Jack”, was recorded in Hoboken in 1993.

A visit to Spain opened up a world of new possibilities and later that year Jack moved his blues to Madrid, where he has been living for the last 12 years with his wife Carmen and their daughter Maria.

During this period Jack released 3 CDs in Spain, “First Night With The Blues” in 1996, “Second Chance” in 1997 and “Three Seconds to Love Me” in 2002

He has just finished recording his fourth CD, “This Blue Before”, in Canada, using an all-star line-up of Canadian musicians as well as his Spanish drummer, Quique Villafañe. The recording was produced by the internationally famous jazz guitarist Pat Coleman and features a brilliant horn section led by Phil Dwyer.

Over the course of some 40 years as a working musician, Jack has had the great fortune to work as an opening act for some of the biggest names in show business, including B.B. King, John Mayall, Bonnie Raitt, Charlie Musselwhite, Johnny Clyde Copeland, John Hammond, Jr, and the Reverend Gary Davis.

Hoodoo Rhythm Devils - Safe In Their Homes (1976 )

                                                            Hoodoo Rhythm Devils
The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils rode the post-hippie wave emanating from San Francisco at the dawn of the '70s. Fusing blues boogie with country-rock rave-ups, full-throated rock & roll and a hint of soul, they didn't quite sound like any other band in the Bay Area in the early '70s. In a 1972 Rolling Stone rave of their second album, The Barbecue of Deville,  Nick Tosches compared the group to Comamander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen and Asleep at the Wheel, which points to how the band was closer to the American equivalent of British pub rock than an extension of Steve Miler's spacy blues. Maybe that's why they were nothing more than a cult act, releasing five records before splitting in 1978.

The Hoodoo Rhythm Devils formed in 1970 when guitar teacher John Rewind teamed with Joe Crane -- a bassist who played with  Johnny Winter and Edgar Wnter back in his home state of Texas -- on the advice of one of his students. Rewind recruited drummer Glenn Walters -- the two had played in a St. Louis band called the Zoo in the '60s -- and added bassist Richard Greene, who played with Roberta Flack , among others, in Washington, D.C. Initially calling themselves Joe Crane & His Hoodoo Rhythm Devils, the band truncated their appellation to the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils by the time their debut, Rack Jobbers Rule, came out on Capitol  in 1971. The band added second drummer Roger Clark -- formerly of The Steve Miller Band -- for 1972's The Barbecue of DeVille, which was released on  Blue Thumb. During that year, the band toured extensively but it didn't help break them to a wider audience. Clark left after the tour and Keith Knudsen played some gigs with them before they hired Jerome Kimsey to drum on 1973's What the Kids Want. Although the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils were gaining some recognition from their peers in the form of covers of Crane's songs -- Comamander Cody and Johnny Winter recorded his tunes, as did  Patti LaBelle and The Chambers Brothers -- the band itself was stalled. Richard Greene left late in 1973 and was replaced by Roger Stanton, who played with the group until they split in 1974. After a year, the group reunited and cut a record that was shelved (it saw an archival release in 2012), then signed with World Records for 1976's Safe in Their Homes. Fantasy re-released the album the next year and the group cut one last album for the label, All Kidding Aside, in 1978. Tragically, Joe Crane died from leukemia in 1980. Glenn Walters continued playing with the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils while also playing corporate gigs with his Glenn Walters Quartet. Richard Greene worked as a recording engineer before becoming a member of the a cappella group The Bobs; he also sang "Fall Into the Gap" on a well-known ad for the clothing store The Gap. Roger Clark toured with Travis Wammck . All these men wound up with careers in the music business, and the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils retained a cult following that purchased archival releases from Rar Window Music. Starting in 2012, the label went through the band's vaults and found the unreleased "Lost Album" from 1975, plus two live shows -- Live from New York and One Night Only -- and the rarity-filled The Best of the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils, Vol. 2, which also included a new reunion cut between the surviving members and their offspring.

Greg Sover Band - The Parade (2020)

                                                                 Greg Sover Band
Greg Sover has been influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bob Marley, Jay-Z, and Jimi Hendrix. Sover first gave notice that he is on track to be the next big thing out of Philly when he won the 2015 Hard Rock Rising competition at Philly’s Hard Rock Cafe in 2015. His band is comprised of three Philly veterans with extensive resumes; bassist Garry Lee, guitarist Allen James and drummer Tom Walling.

The Parade is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed “Jubilee”, and reinforces that he is one of the top emerging blues/rock artists in his home base of Philadelphia and beyond.

The Parade includes a version of the song “Politician” from the legendary band Cream, certainly relevant to the upcoming United States Presidential election. It was released as a single mid-year, in time for the primary election season and received significant local and international airplay..

Of special note, the Interlude that follows “Wake Up”. includes part of an instrumental piece written specifically as a memorial to George Floyd. On a personal level, Sover sings “Never Too Late”, a song written for his late mother.
