Usually, when talking about Argentina in music, comes to mind its most famous and successful expression, the tango, but it is difficult to think that the endless expanses of the pampa can also inspire another genre, the blues; if it is better reflected, however, the melancholy and regret, the founding matter of the tango, are also constitutive of the second type of music, which tells stories of loneliness and distance.
Gabriel Delta, Argentinian with the passion of the blues, thought that in Italy he found a second homeland and valid collaborators, members of his band; in his last work, from the simple title Hobo, his idea of life and music, well played and equally effectively interpreted, is collected thanks to the contribution of musicians such as Gianni Gotta (guitar), Daniele Mignone (bass) and Carlo Belotti ( drums and percussions). Recorded in just two days, based on a live session, the album is compact and solid, and ranges from aggressive songs like the one that gives the title to the album, to romantic ballads like Skyless Angels, and also includes, in addition to revisiting the traditional Duerme Negrito, three tributes to the masters of a lifetime, from Warren Hines to Taj Mahal to Willie Dixon by Little Red Rooster, interpreted with conviction and participation, and transformed into a contemporary piece thanks to these two qualities.
