Jerry Waddel
Jerry began his musical journey at the age of 9 when he received a Stella guitar for Christmas, teaching himself to play it. Jerry says it's a gift from God. Capturing the licks of Chuck Berry, Albert King, BB King, to the slow grinding rhythm of Jimmy Reed, and other great blues artist's brings us up to now.
Jerry Waddel delivers a smooth blend of down-home, foot-stompin' music mixed with a good charge of electrifying rhythm and blues and stands out as one of today's original performers. Drawing from his upbringing in the hills of Arkansas and early working years throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, California, and Texas, Jerry infuses a brand of reality and power in his music that is unmistakably rich, unique, and his alone.
Now living in the state of Tennessee, Waddel and his band have built a respectable following of devoted fans and night club operators. Sharing the stage with : Tina Turner, Augie Meyers, Steve Cropper, Kim Wilson, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jonell Mosser, Blind Mississippi Morris, Mud Cat Ruth, Asleep At The Wheel, Mississippi Heat, Doug Sahm. Jerry and his dynamic band, which his bass player Dean Waddel a brother that has shared the stage with Waddel since the late 60's, and son Todd that has also shared the Waddel stage since the late 80's.
He has worked the Austin Texas scene, where the Vaughns, and the T-Birds played, and many a great blues artist, playing the "Soap Creek Saloon" to the "Hole In The Wall" and down to Memphis to Beale Street jamming at the "Blues City Cafe" to "Blues Hall." Jerry and his group have toured to Canada, throughout Europe, and from one end to the other in the USA.
Jerry has the respect of his audience, other musicians, festival operaters, that is rightfully his; it's called, professional, soulful, spiritual power... and it's Jerry Waddel.
