Clarifications

Guys, I would like to clarify some things, there are some CDs that come to me with 190MB or even 128MB, it is not my intention to deceive anyone, when I transform them to 320MB, I know that the songs will be practically the same MB as before, but I do this because I understand that it improves a little more, and I also understand that for some people the most important thing is to have the album. I don't gain anything by deceiving someone because my intention is to take the music I like to people and that's it. I would also like to clarify that I have no right to the CDs that I post, anyone is free to do whatever they want with them. I would like to ask that those who have the financial means to buy the original CDs do so to help the musicians. A hug to everyone.

  4. But can someone seriously complain and talk about "deceiving" on your part? After all, all you do is share the music you like with us readers, you don't profit or anything. Anyway, you might as well leave the original bitrate as it is, since what's lost is lost and quality cannot be improved by turning, say, 192 to 320kb. And, once again, thank you for the fine music!

    1. You're welcome George, yes, I'm going to do that, it'll even give me less trouble.

  5. I never change bitrates and in my very large music collection I have albums in all bitrates. Whatever I get it in stays in that bitrate. The only exception are flac, which I convert to 320, as I listen to my music either on 1) laptop 2) smartphone 3) car stereo, so for me there's are no advantages in keeping large flac or wave files. I have blues and rock albums from years ago in very low bitrates, like 64mb and I listen to them in my car and they sound just fine. Anyway, my suggestion it to just leave bitrates as they are but make a note next to the d/l link informing if it's a low bitrate.

    1. Yeah, you know Bob, I listen to it on my stereo, turn on my laptop, which amplifies the sound and improves the quality. I don't notice a big difference, but I believe that for some people it is more noticeable.

    2. I agree with you ISMU as anybody is free to take or not your shares. No contraint at all ! For my own I never overscale mp3 and I even convert every lossless file (not FLAC) in ALAC to not mess up with FLAC aficionados !! When I have a MP128 I look anyway for a better bitrate. The worst is when people convert mp3 in lossless and I hunt them with Spek ! Why do they do that ?? It's awful ! When I listen to some converted LPs in 24bits/192MHz, I can swear that sound is really not the same as MP128 on decent Hi-Fi/Speakers ! lol !
      Cheers

    3. Yes Chris-France, I'm going to do some testing to see if using another preogram I can transform it from 128 to 320, but from what I've seen people comment, this may not be possible. A hug.

  6. It would be nice to know the bitrate so if there was a better copy to become available we can always upgrade. but I'm half deaf and I only notice the volume changes in my scramble, sometimes I just have turn it up, if I can reach the button...HaHa.

  7. I don't think it has any use to re-convert a 128kb/s album to 320. What is taken out when they converted it to 128 is gone forever and does not come back if you make a 320 out of it. Sorry to say, but the quality will not improve.

  9. JJF and the others are right, Ismael.
Unfortunatly the (room of) heights for example are gone when transcoded/coverted in a lower bitrate and are not "coming back" through resampling in a higher bit rate. So don't bother to do the extra work.
The base can not be better than the original with any converting and format algorithm, right now.
As it is not possble to do a proper live mix from a bad recorded live set.
Otherwise it would be cool as we could enhance Magic Sams "live at ann harbor...", e.g. ;))

    1. Yes Assios, I will post the CDs and inform the kbps they have.
You're right, I have a Magic Sam CD (Magic Touch - Recorded live at Silvio`s Chicago, 1966, it has horrible sound quality, but I still love it! If it were really possible, record companies would not release CDs with such bad sound quality. A hug.
