  1. Thank you for this!!! Actually, I probably won't listen to it again, but I was glad I got a chance to listen to it anyway. From the little bits I listened to on the album, it sounds like mostly a jazz record.

What caught my attention on the blog were the song titles. "Skydog" had to be a reference to Duane Allman; Wilson Pickett gave him the nickname. Sure enough, the track is a tribute to Duane. The music is sort of a rocked-up version of Duane's acoustic "Little Martha" with an electric slide guitar playing somewhat repetitive patterns.

I thought "Blues for Bette" might be Bettye LaVette, but the spelling is wrong. "Byrd's Waltz" could be Charlie Byrd.

With "Roys Gospel", I'm at a loss. Roy Buchanan?

I'm not sure who "Grant" is and I was hoping "Green" might be Peter Green, but I didn't recognize any guitar in the style of Green. (The song may also be a reference to a Grant & Green Saloon in San Francisco.

Still, the song titles were interesting to try and figure out and "Skydog" is a pretty good track. Thanks for posting this!!!

  2. Yes, my friend, it is sometimes difficult to know what people are trying to say, and even to suppose. Eventually I put CDs that are not exactly blues but that I understand to have a "blues intention", for me any style that derives from one that is its root has some of its essence. Thanks for your comment. A hug.
