Bobby G Blues Band - Bobby G Blues Band (2008)

                                                       Bobby G Blues Band
One unexpected discovery for me at this year’s Blues on the Fox festival was Aurora, Illinois’ own Bobby G Blues Band at his CD release party after the festival was called due to rain. Bobby G’s a rock-solid bass player who has shared stages with some pretty influential bluesmen, including Larry McCray, the late Willie Kent, and Buddy Guy.

Bobby G’s latest CD features nine original songs, and it kicks off with a firey “Went Out Last Night” that showcases a very talented six-piece blues band. This long, introductory jam sets the stage with fine harp work from Tony Medina, the choice lead guitar chops of Al Spear, followed by some nice touches on rhythm guitar from Orpheus Golden.

Since I got back home from Bobby G’s CD release party in the historic Leland Building, I’ve listened to Bitter Cup a half-dozen times. Four of the nine songs clock in at over six minutes each, and while that may challenge some radio programmers, I like the way Bobby G provides opportunities for each of his sidemen to stretch out and strut their stuff.

While there’s some pretty hard-charging blues on Bitter Cup, Bobby G and the guys slow it down a bit on two romantic ballads tailor-made for the dance floor: “Miracle” and “Lovely Night for Romance.” Bobby G’s working to promote live blues music in the far Western Suburbs of Chicagoland, and I recommend this outfit highly. Live, they mix up the set lists with some inspired versions of classic covers, and I enjoyed “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” the night I first discovered this band. I was pleasantly surprised at Tony Medina on congas, and the twin keybards, too, that contributed to the band’s big sound.

Rick Bernasconi - Berni (2018)

                                                            Rick Bernasconi
As he explains in his song, Back In The Sixties, his "momma bought him a guitar" when he "was just fifteen ...", That was in 1966, and he has been playing it ever since. Rick came of age in San Francisco, when all of the seminal players were "making the scene". They had a huge influence on his own playing style, which you can still hear today, playing with his longtime band Black Slax.

Rick Bernasconi wrote, sang, played guitars and bass as well as recorded all tracks. Shane Montane did the digital archive, post production and mixdowns from the original cassette tapes and Yamaha deck.

Gary Cain - The Holborn Sessions (2010)

                                                                  Gary Cain
“A high-wire blues/rock guitar slinger…killer original stuff that those in the market for a new guitar hero will take to heart.”

Cain’s guitar work on stage has been described by reviewers as “genre-bending”, “jaw-dropping” and “the real deal”, but the foundation of his virtuosic style was laid via marathon practice sessions as a youngster in his parents’ basement.  “Back then it’s all I would do some days – sometimes 13, 14 hours a day. I’d have to be reminded to eat.” says Cain.  Long days poring over the musical styles of blues legends gave him a deep respect for the music, but he’s not beholden to it. “I’m not a purist.” he says, “What made those players so great was what they brought ot the music to make it their own.  Albert King was the best Albert King there’ll ever be.  You gotta do your own thing with it.”

After studying guitar at Humber College’s world-renowned music program, he played in several bands, eventually landing a gig in the house band for The Lodge, one of Dubai’s largest nightclubs. The four-sets-a-night, six-nights-a-week pace eventually led to a vocal injury that sidelined him.  Now, back in action with a style he calls Twangadelic Bluesophunk, he’s backed by a rhythm section featuring two incredibly well-rounded, experienced, and talented musicians. “It’s great to be able to play with guys that can draw from so many styles. It gives us a lot of freedom to stretch out of the typical blues box and into a lot of cool different places.”

Big Jon Atkinson - RAW Blues (2018)

                                                             Big Jon Atkinson
Big Jon Atkinson is a bad man. Not in the demented, hockey mask, and chainsaw kind of way.  No, Mr. Atkinson is bad in a seriously mean old, low-down and nasty, bottle-neck slide guitar blues type of way. Oh sure, he appears innocent enough, with his harp rack and fistful of capos. But when he sits down to play, you’d better keep your hands up and your elbows in because he’s taking you with him when he goes. Don’t let the lumberjack shirt and cuffed jeans fool you; he’ll come right at your head with a few quick slide riffs and then break you down with sustained, well-placed body blows. This will be your only warning. So, put in your mouthpiece and make a few plans on your way to the canvas; you’re about to take a dive, courtesy of Big Jon Atkinson.

"Big" Jon Atkinson's 3rd self release. "Raw Blues" is a collection of tunes recorded with Kim Wilson backing him on harmonica on every track, as well as other greats like Billy Flynn, Barrelhouse Chuck, Robert Welsh, Danny Michel etc..This album focuses on Atkinson's early career and is a collection of those tunes from the early days of Bigtone Records and recordings from the first incarnation of the studio and sound. Lo-Fi goodness!

Roy Gaines' Orchestra Tuxedo Blues - Live at the Saturday Night Fish Fry T-Bone Celebration (2019)

                                                                 Roy Gaines
What could Roy Milton, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Joe Morris, Chuck Willis, Brook Benton, Jimmy Rushing, Billie Holiday, Coleman Hawkins, John Hammond, the Jazz Crusaders, Earl Grant, Ray Charles, Della Reese, Stevie Wonder, the Everly Brothers, Bobby Darin, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones and Harry Belafonte all possibly have in common?
At one time or another, every one of those stars and quite a few more utilized the talents of incredibly versatile Los Angeles-based guitarist Roy Gaines. He’s played on film soundtracks, taken a late ‘60s side trip into calypso, done session work for Motown’s West Coast office, tried a Cole Porter chestnut on for size in the studio (complete with a swirling string section), waxed a Bob Dylan cover for a big New York label, and dabbled in country music with Hank Williams’ first wife Audrey. Yet his albums over the last two decades, several of them issued on his own Black Gold Records imprint, make it abundantly clear that Gaines has never abandoned his Texas blues roots. He holds T-Bone Walker’s immaculate fretwork especially close to his heart.
Born in Waskom, Texas, Roy Gaines started out playing piano in the style of Nat "King" Cole at an early age, and then switched to the guitar when he was 14. An unabashed admirer of fellow Texan T-Bone Walker, Gaines met his idol as a youth and modeled his own playing after Walker 's groundbreaking style, later performing and recording with the pioneering electric bluesman.

At 14 Roy met T-Bone at a local performance, and was even invited to back Walker onstage; dubbed "T-Bone Jr." Thereafter, he regularly played clubs throughout the Houston area before relocating to Los Angeles two years later. There, Roy was tapped to join Roy Milton's band, followed by a stint with Chuck Willis. Additionally, he and Walker occasionally joined forces in the years leading to the latter's 1975 death.

Roy’s first exposure to show business came via his brother, Grady Gaines, noted sax player in Little Richard’s backing band the Upsetters. Roy then started doing sessions for Houston’s Duke/Peacock Records before hitting the trail to Los Angeles. Some of his earliest singles - the torrid ‘50s jump numbers he waxed for the Chart, Groove, DeLuxe, and RCA Victor labels, along with a handful of classics, he played nightly behind Chuck Willis during his days as the turbaned Atlanta blues shouter’s bandleader.
In the fifties, while moving between LA, Houston and New York, he was a first call jazz and blues session man featured on various releases by Big Mama Thornton, Junior Parker, Bobby Blue Bland, Coleman Hawkins and Jimmy Rushing, the latter whose singing style is clearly a major influence on Gaines own virile, full bodied vocals. In 1958 he appeared with Billie Holiday on Jazz Party, the singer's last public appearance with pianist Mal Waldron and bassist Vinnie Burke. Later work found the guitarist backing everybody from Ray Charles and Chuck Willis to Harry Belafonte, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Bobby Darin, The Everly Brothers, Diana Ross & The Supremes, and later even joining the Jazz Crusaders (later known simply as the Crusaders) appearing on two LPs in 1961. In 1966 Gaines returned to Los Angeles and joined the Ray Charles big band. While with the band he wrote "No Use Cryin'" for Ray's hit album "Crying Time".

Gaines work as a leader began with two albums for RCA Victor's Groove subsidiary label in 1956, then on to the critically acclaimed Gainelining (1980) - his solo album, which sold well, but it was a decade later that he picked up a whole new career as a frontman with a long string of albums including Lucille Work for Me (1996), Bluesman for Life (1998), I Got The T-Bone Walker Blues (1999) and New Frontier Lover (2000), which made him a highly regarded figure on the international blues scene, earning him a W.C. Handy Award (and two other nominations) and a Living Blues Award.

But Gaines is just as much a jazz man, going back to the music's early days when he was featured on a John Hammond promoted tour that also featured Count Basie with Jimmy Rushing. Gaines' experience also includes much work with producer Quincy Jones, playing regularly in the renaissance music man's studio orchestra on numerous television and film scores, including The Color Purple (1985), and also appearing on screen playing the composer of “Miss Celie's Blues (Sister)".

In 2009, Gaines (billed as Roy Gaines & his Orchestra) released Tuxedo Blues, featuring a full big band. Selections included "Miss Celie's Blues (Sister)," which Gaines originally performed in the movie The Color Purple.

In 2018 Roy played the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl with his 18 piece orchestra. Also in 2018 Roy did the Central Ave Jazz Festival in Los Angeles, the KSDS 88.3 live broadcast concert and the Legendary Blues Cruise with his 9 piece orchestra sporting 5 horns.

Since 2000 Roy has released 8 more records. His latest release “Live at The Saturday Night Fish Fry” (2018) celebrates his life & times with the legendary T-Bone Walker and was sponsored by KSDS 88.3 Jazz Radio San Diego.

René Lacko & Downtown Band - Tribute to Jimi Hendrix & Stevie Ray Vaughan (2003)

                                                                René Lacko
"Hendrix was my God, his style of play was fascinating to me," Rene admits. Evidence of this is that in 1996 he participated in the Jimi Hendrix Interpretation Competition in North Carolina, which is annually awarded by Hendrix's family. He finished in one of the semifinal rounds as the best European in 2nd place.

In addition to Hendrix, his designs include Steve Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Eric Clapton and other blues and bluesrock greats. But he was not only in the shadows of his guitar heroes, but also on his own musical journey. She presents her art at concerts in clubs and festivals at home and abroad, where she performs with her bluesrock band DownTown. She has several CDs behind her. The latest studio album, Blind Man, was released in February 2013 and a selection of live recordings was released in April 2015 to mark the 20th anniversary of the band's 20 years before.

Robert Kimbrough, Sr. - What I'm Gon' Do Where I'm Gon' Go from Here (2017)

                                                       Robert Kimbrough, Sr.
LosbergerRobert Kimbrough Sr continues the Cotton Patch Soul Blues style created by his father, the legendary Junior Kimbrough. From an early age, Robert was steeped in the sounds and life of North Mississippi and its distinctive style of blues. Growing up, Robert listened, first-hand to Mississippi blues royalty that played with his father at home, at Junior’s Juke Joint Club, and the ever frequent weekend house party and porch jam session. The blues was simply part of everyday life as a Kimbrough. Robert continues his father’s musical tradition, along with some of his siblings. You can often find many of them sharing the stage on any given night in Mississippi. The Kimbrough name, along with the Burnside name, is part of a blues dynasty that remains strong today, bringing people from all over the world to see and hear them play. The Cotton Patch Soul Blues style that Robert plays is a straight link to the music that his father originated in North Mississippi. It is a deep soul sound that can be linked back to his ancestors coming from the cotton fields, singing and ‘hollering‘ as they worked in the tall rows of Mississippi cotton. This distinct and somewhat underground style of blues is rooted in hypnotic, rhythms and dance-able grooves. The Black Keys released an entire album in 2006 of Junior Kimbrough cover songs called Chulahoma: The Songs of Junior Kimbrough. Up until the mid 80s, the only way to hear this music was to visit a church-turned-blues-den founded by Junior Kimbrough in Chulahoma, MS that unfortunately burned down in 2000.Robert Kimbrough Sr. Blues Connection can be seen on the Mississippi blues series “Mojo Hands and Moonshine,”  Episode 2: Paul MacLeod Has Left The Building. In this episode, blues impresarios Roger Stolle and Jeff Konkel visit the site of Junior Kimbrough’s burned down Juke Joint and interview Robert Kimbrough about Junior Kimbrough’s music and the music tradition that Robert is carrying on.
Robert Kimbrough Sr. released this CD just in time for 2017 Juke Joint Fest. This CD is Robert’s follow-up to 2016’s Willey Woot. Robert has his usual suspects in rare form on this cotton patch blues release.

Robben Ford - Live At Rockpalast (2017)

                                                                     Robben Ford
Snooky Young’s ‘Chevrolet’ is given a heavy-duty funk treatment, while the self penned ‘The Miller’s Tale’ is a tightly wrapped stop-time instrumental with organ accompaniment.

‘Tired Of Talkin’ finds Robben at his most expansive on a swaggering shuffle, but a misguided example of band democracy leads us into a redundant 2 and half minute drum solo from Tom Brechtlein on the intro to the  funky instrumental ‘The Brother (For Jimmy & Stevie’). Given that this was presumably a supporting set, it’s a wasted opportunity.

‘Live at Rockpalast’ is mostly of interest because it’s Robben Ford’s long over due live album and because of the DVD shoot of the 1998 band. The impeccable camera work captures the very best moments of a masterful guitarist polishing some ordinary material and occasionally making it sparkle. ***½

Willie Farmer - The Man From The Hill (2019)

                                                              Willie Farmer
Farmer is one of those guys that just has The Blues running through his veins, buying his first guitar out of the proceeds from picking cotton; yet has just kept his singing and mean guitar playing as a bit of a hobby for the last 40 years or so, as he’s kept a roof over the family’s heads by owning his own auto-repair shop in Duck Hill MS. If we delve a bit deeper his Dad occasionally played harmonica for RMHQ Favourite Leo ‘Bud’ Welch and his Uncle ran a Juke Joint before getting killed in a dispute ‘over a woman’.
There’s a song in there somewhere.
Willie only recorded his debut album I’m Coming Back Home three years ago; and now the follow up The Man From The Hill, is getting a much wider distribution and promotion via the great Big Legal Mess record label.

It’s pretty apparent early on that our man has listened to a lot of different playing styles over the years as he’s honed his very own, distinctive playing and singing style that incorporates a bit of everything from Big Bill Broonzy and Muddy through to BB, Freddie and Albert Collins too, and even a bit of righteous Johnny Winter in Fistful of Dollars for good measure!
This album is primarily about his songs stories; and what songs they are too……. there’s a glorious Gospel inspired At The Meeting, but Break Bad and Daddy Was Right are from the downright low down and mean mistreated dirty end of the Blues spectrum; and then he makes I Am The Lightning and Shake Baby Shake simply sizzle with sexual tension!
This guy has a foot in every camp and performs each and every one with class and precision too.
Then of course there is the title track The Man From The Hill, which is a case of ‘keeping the best for last’ and ticks every box I have when it comes to loving Blues Music; a cool story sung by a cracking singer and more than enough fiery and funky guitar playing to make my heart skip a beat!
Willie Farmer hopes that the release of this album means he can finally ‘give up the day job’ and make a living from music……. I hope so too; as he is the Real Deal and certainly has the talent and good taste to bring joy to the masses all over the Western World.

It has been waiting, but finally we can listen to the first SR CD. BLUES "Del Guadalssissippi". And the wait has been worth it, eight songs complete this album, which opens with "Blues del Guagdalssissippi", a hymn to the blues that is made in Andalusia and that is on track to become the flagship theme of the group. In total five songs sung, all in Spanish and three instrumental, full of rhythm and good vibes, with no other pretension than to do blues, good blues. Blues as if they treasured, in his harmonica Cristobal Oteros "Pobas" and his guitar Antonio Osuna, wrapped by the bass of Rafael Lara "Popez" and Santi Rodriguez on drums.

Zak Perry - Seven Year (2003)

                                                                  Zak Perry
Just as advances in technology have changed the way we make and listen to music, so too has time changed the look of the minstrel. However, in the truest sense of the word, the songwriters of today are our contemporary minstrels. Whether they travel via van, tour bus, Learjet or virtually in cyberspace, they are nonetheless carrying on a tradition of and artistic gift that goes back thousands of years.

It is unlikely that the first word that comes to mind when listening to one of Zak Perry's songs or watching the Zak Perry Band perform live is "minstrel". Yet, true to the meaning of the word, that’s what he (and subsequently the band) is. Since writing his first song "Jesus Is Calling" at the age of 13, Zak Perry has spent his lifetime learning, honing and mastering his craft; taking those universal tales that we all know, but telling the story in his own way, filling it in according to his own experiences. Or as we call today: songwriting.

Along with him throughout most of this journey and almost as a testament to songs which they serve to support, fellow guitarist and B3 player Vern Vennard & drummer Jason Charron have both dedicated most of thire musical careers to playing with The Zak Perry Band. Collectively, they have been with Zak Perry for more than 15 years; an unbelievable amount of time in the world of struggling musicians. With the recent addition of bass guitar powerhouse Chris Hughes, the Zak Perry Band is now firing on all cylinders; fine tuning their own genre, of Heavy Electric Southern Soul; a uniquely matched combination of rock, blues, soul, gospel, country and funk.

Nora Jean - Good Blues (2011)

                                                                  Nora Jean
If I had to describe Nora Jean Wallace in one word, that would be an easy task: Nora Jean is all about love.  When asked why she sings the blues, she used the word love three times … in two sentences!  “I love to share the love God put in me … I love to express my story in [the] songs of my life.” And when asked why she recorded Good Blues, her new CD, there was that word again: “I put in my songs what is inside of me: love.”

And while Nora Jean made it easy for me to sum her up in one word, I’m grateful that I get to use a few more of them here to share her fascinating life story with you.  Once you walk the path she’s traveled in this world, you’ll know exactly where her blues come from, not to mention all that love.

You could say that Nora Jean Wallace was born to sing the blues.  The seventh child of a Mississippi sharecropper, she grew up in the Delta with her 15 brothers and sisters on the 11,000-acre Equen Plantation, located halfway between Clarksdale and Greenwood, the town where she was born.

Armed with unshakeable faith, she defiantly stared down the devil, never blinking once.  Working two jobs while raising a grandchild and performing whenever and wherever she could, there were definitely times when she was not just singing the blues … she was living them.  Yet every year between 2005 and 2009 Nora Jean was nominated for a Blues Music Award in the Traditional Blues Female Artist of the Year category.  Praised by the likes of Koko Taylor, Steady Rollin’ Bob Margolin and Debbie Davies and heralded as the next “Queen of the Blues” by Pocono Blues Director Michael Cloeren and Blues in Britain magazine, Nora Jean Wallace has earned her place in the blues world.  Speaking of her first love, she says:

The blues is alive and well, and I am proud to be a part of it.  I feel privileged to sing the music that is my heritage.  The artistic achievements of my ancestors are not only one of their greatest contributions to America, but also one of America’s greatest contributions to the world.  The blues is great American music and, God willing, I will be singing it for you for many, many years to come.

On any given night you may hear me throw some Tina Turner or Tracy Chapman into my show, depending on the audience. I have even been known to perform a rap song called “Superstar” that my oldest son wrote for me when I have an audience of mainly young people.  But I always begin and end with the blues.  It is my passion and my calling to try to keep this great music alive.  Call it traditional blues, hard blues, old school blues, whatever you like, it is my blues and I love it.

Neil Minet & the Night Flyers - Shades of Blue (2019)

                                                                 Neil Minet
In his debut album, Shades of Blue, Minet sought to capture his take on many of the standards of the genre that have influenced his early years. In doing so, he also hoped to pay tribute to his home of Syracuse, NY. With a long history as a vibrant blues scene, Syracuse has shaped him into the musician he is today and continues to provide him with the foundation for his career in the genre.

In addition to Minet’s musical direction of the album, his partner in crime, Shane Patterson, played an equally important role in the project both on the bass and in the control room. At only 19, Patterson has already established himself as both a versatile bass player and a skillful hand in the studio. Having now gigged throughout Central New York and New York City, as well as having produced, mixed, and engineered multiple albums for Syracuse area artists, Patterson brought both a fresh take on blues bass and a wealth of recording knowledge that helped to shape the album’s sound.

Rounding out the album’s sound is the incredible Byron “Kidd” Cage on drums. Although Cage has toured the world and recorded on Joe Louis Walker’s 2017 Grammy nominated album “Everybody Wants A Piece,” he is known first and foremost for kindness and...  more

Buck & Evans - Rock N' 2 Remember - Live in Arizona (2013)

                                                              Buck & Evans
As can sometimes fortuitously happen in the case of your favourite artists, I discovered the band Buck & Evans completely by accident. They were playing the inaugural Ramblin’ Man Fair festival in 2015, buried in an unassuming mid-afternoon slot on the curiously titled ‘Outlaw’ Country Stage. I was expecting a couple of old timers dressed in dungarees behind a pair of battered acoustic guitars. Instead, I got a sensational ‘rock ‘n’ soul’ band; a guitarist whose playing belied his obviously modest years, a vocalist who’d have made Janis look twice and a rhythm section that would still have you moving if your feet had been nailed to the floor.

GARY MYRICKs BLUESTRASH is Texas-blues in its purest form - dirty, electric, and dangerous.
The trio, based in Los Angeles, California, is fronted by Texas guitar master Gary Myrick (Gary Myrick and the Figures, Havana 3AM - with members of the Clash and John Waite’s band). BLUESTRASH mixes twanging-Texas-blues, urban and rockabilly jumping shuffles, and soulful lapsteel-laced melodies.

Chris King Robinson - Tell Me Why Youre Scared (2015)

                                                           Chris King Robinson
Only 20 years old, Britain native Chris King Robinson is starting to prove himself as a new blues guitarist on the rise. His first EP, Tell Me Why You’re Scared, is five tracks of obvious talent, combining a variety of guitar sounds with intimate vocals.

The title track, “Tell Me Why You’re Scared,” gives the essence of a live song that is played to perfection, or even better, than the recording. It is soulful and honest music that vibes through to the soul, a feeling that translates through the rest of the tracks on the EP. Another song, “Trippin’ on Earth” opens with an ode towards classic ’60s and ’70s guitar.

While most of the album consists of raspy and whisper-like vocals, several tracks display a broader, more demanding sound suggesting there may be more behind Robinson’s vocals than he lets on in this EP. However, Robinson is a pronounced blues guitarist above all, and this EP is presumably a small (but, delicious) taste of what he is capable of. A promising release from Chris King Robinson, he shows he is a strong presence in blues music, and it will be exciting to see what else he has up his sleeve and how he will develop his sound from here.

Blues Boy Willie - Blues then & Now (2019)

                                                              Blues Boy Willie
Willie McFalls, a native Memphian from Texas, not Tennessee, took the chitlin circuit by surprise in 1990 when the comical blues dialog of "Be-Who?" put his second album on the Billboard charts and his act on the road. Blues Boy Willie came to Ichiban Records courtesy of his boyhood friend from Texas, bluesman-producer Gary B. B. Coleman. Willie's three albums to date all bear the typical Coleman touch -- competent but predictable blues tracks with a small studio band. It has been the spunky spoken repartee between Willie and his wife Miss Lee on the novelty numbers that has earned Willie an unexpected niche on the Southern soul-blues scene.

Jesse Davey - Big Blues (2015)

                                                               Jesse Davey
His playing is influenced by the greats such as B.B. King, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and Stevie Ray Vaughn and has developed into a mature, personal style ranging from “blistering pyrotechnics with jazz and classical flavors”. It is clear Davey is a veteran in the blues guitar world bringing you the finest soul searching solos, which run the game of emotions of exquisite melancholy to explosive joy.
Davey as member of the Hoax

In 1991 Davey started The Hoax alongside John Amor and Hugh Coltman. All the members were all young students of the blues and had played together since they were in their teens; songwriting and arrangements were worked out together by all five members and in 1994 their debut album Sound Like This was brought out. The Hoax impresses critics in England who compared the to The Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and the Rolling Stones.

601 Blues - Hard Edge Blues (2008)

                                                                  601 Blues
Blues is about passion and caring,if you had no passion,or did not care for anything, then there would be no Blues!!Blues can find its way into any form or life style, its not what you feel its how you express it,My Blues is reflections of life, and all the fears we have in todays world,Sometimes we just need to stop and look at ourselves, and that is a scary thing for most of us to do!!
When I write a song,I don't plan on it being any form, of Blues/Rock or anything, I just let the Song unfold and be what it wants at that moment,I will not go back and edit anything once it is recorded,The intent is not to change anything that was caught in the passion of the moment, Like a Photo the best is when the subject is caught at the most ackward moments,so I want to keep that moment as is.
I play all the instruments on all recordings, so far I have worked with Guitars,Bass, violin, Keyboards, piano, sax,Harmonica, drums, congas,I have used other artist at times, but for me its like a sculpter callin in another sculpter to carve out a nose on a statue that he has been workin on!!WHY! Yes My music is different, thats what I want,I don't want to sound like anyone else,On this CD I had a struggle with my self on what to call it, Lost Highway or Move to the Moon!!so I could not decide cuz both are my favs.I started to remove one and start another project around that!!So I left it as is and used my guitar pick guard as the title!! Grab a Glass Of Merlot and sit back reflect and enjoy!!
