Rik grew up in Bildt, Friesland, where Frisian blues legend Shakey Sam also lived. After seeing Shakey perform as a boy on a colorful night in the village, the seed was planted to learn to play the guitar.
Listening to the Beatles frequently sparked his love for making music even more. Rik quickly stood out for his talent and willpower to master the guitar. He played in local bands in his youth.
The extravagant two-meter-tall blonde and curly hair later graduated from the Groningen Conservatory.
He has not gone unnoticed on the music scene, which has resulted in an excellent track record as a rock guitarist in particular.
