David Landon
Singer, Songwriter and guitarist David Landon brings over 30 years of experience from the stage and studio to every note he plays. In the early days of David’s professional career (circa 1990), David lived and performed in Paris, France where he was a steady fixture in the European club and festival circuit. Though life in Paris was truly wonderful for the American ex-pat musician, David wished for something greater then the regional success he had achieved abroad and so he returned to the US in 1995 and settled in the SF Bay Area to further pursue his musical vision.
Since his return to the US David has released 5 solo c.d.s and has played on countless recording sessions for a wide variety of artists. He has also performed in a multitude of venues across the US. In that time, David Landon also became a successful producer and engineer and opened his own recording facility in 2001 - Whip Records, where he has worked with many notable artists such as Taj Mahal, Tuck and Patti, Lenny Williams and Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows.
Today David continues to perform at clubs and festivals such as across the US. Past shows includes dates at The Monterey Bay Blues Festival, The Delta Blues Festival and The SF North Beach Festival to name just a few. The David Landon Band has also appeared on Bay TV’s Morning Show with John Kessler and on Kofy T.V. 20’s Late Night with James Gabbert.
For over 20 years David Landon has performed with his original blues/rock band in the style of his guitar heroes: Hendrix,Clapton,SRV and Freddie King. Since 2010 Mr. Landon has come back to his first love of acoustic music and has developed his songwriting and performing to reflect that. As a result his current performances cross multiple musical boundaries ranging from foot stomping blues to more mellow and carefully crafted originals in the singer/songwriter style.
The ALL NEW fifth c.d. of all original hard driving blues-rock music from David Landon. “I Like It Too Much” is a departure from his strictly 4-piece band format of his previous 2 releases in that Landon has now added a full horn section and several special guests musicians for an even bigger sound. Mr. Landon is once again joined in the studio by his blues lover’s dream band featuring Steve Evans on bass (Ray Manzarek, Roy Rodgers), Randy Hayes on drums (Chris Cain, Coco Montoya) and Tony Stead on organ (Sly Stone, Tommy Castro). Special guests include Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), Steve Willis (Elvin Bishop) and Alvon.
