Mano Maniak (from 05-2014) Starting out as a street musician, then in clubs and festivals, composer Mano Maniak won over loyal fans as a singer, guitarist and blues harmonica player in the "classic trio" in the mid-70s - hardly anyone knew the word "unplugged" at that time. During this time, his collaboration with Mr. Snoid guitarist Wolfgang Stegbauer proved to be particularly intense and therefore formative. At the end of the 70s the LP "Train of Thoughts" was released - also as a duo - with the German folk veteran Bernd Kaiser. After completing his training at the Munich Jazz School, MM gave several concerts as the lead singer of the blues-rock band The Spice, and toured at the same time. He also toured the country as the lead guitarist of the soul and R&B formation Visa, several tours and another LP followed his ZEUS Award win. In 1984, under the direction of M. Sexauer (ARD music store), MM founded his band Mano Maniak & The in 1988. After two long tours through large parts of the USA with stays in New York, Chicago, New Orleans, Nashville, Memphis, Los Angeles and San Fancisco Backbones (Horacio Cantu on bass and Fritz Rittmüller on drums) reached their peak in 1993 with the live CD “Blues in my Bones”. The blues magazine BLUES NEWS describes this CD as “one of the best German blues records”, the DEUTSCHE ROCKMUSIKER VERBAND eV praises: “Super awesome blues record for the evenings when the live venues are closed!” A year later the live album “Blues Attraction” from the project “live im Feierwerk!” was released. blues sampler published in which MM is represented with three titles. In the mid-90s, MM recorded the CD "Lead into Gold" with the American singer Christine Smith. From this band, with the coveted studio and live guitarist Achim Göres, the duo Best Rockin' Goodies emerged, which is still successful. Members of the music scene also know MM as a "multiculturalist" for numerous folk performances with Greeks, Turks, Kurds, Spaniards and South American musicians such as Paolo Da Silva, the Spanish singer Maria Pilar and especially the Greek singer, guitarist and bouzuki player Sakis Stratopoulos, with MM has been collaborating for over 12 years and has given over 1000 concerts. Together with the jazz and ethno musician Geoff Goodman, the two also gave many concerts at various cultural and music festivals in the 90s as the Rembetiko Blues Trio. MM was founded in 1996 together with the blues harp virtuoso Hubert Hofherr, the duo project “Acoustic Blues Special” was launched in 2003 and the CD “Live in the Krähenhöhle” was released. To this day, the two give successful concerts at home and abroad. In 1999, the acclaimed acoustic blues sampler Country Blues from Munich was released. After a creative break of about 5 years, MM returned to the live stage. In addition to many other concerts with his long-time partner Hubert Hofherr, MM became a member of the band Pat Gifford & Friends, which, alongside Hubert Hofherr, also includes one of MM's former bandmates, the fantastic blues singer and slide guitarist Solly Aschkar. In November 2013, the renowned black blues and gospel singer Albert C. Humphrey signed MM to his band Roots of Blues. Together with guitarist Charly Braun and MM's duo partner Hubert Hofherr, the quartet recorded the CD "Suitcase Full of Blues" and has been on tour since spring 2014.
