My Life Is A Boogie is an album by German musician Inga Rumpf. The album was released in 1977. The album was not very successful commercially and was not always well received by critics. Musik-Express found little in the album at the time. I think this has changed a bit over the years, but that is not news in itself.
Inga Rumpf is one of the best singers Germany has ever produced. Her musical resume is long. She started making music in the sixties. The stations included the bands City Preachers, Frumpy and Atlantis. Each of these bands always sounded much more international than other German bands. This was, among other things, thanks to Inga Rumpf. The woman simply has blues and soul in her voice.
Conclusion This album dates from 1977 and was one of Inga's first solo productions after the breakup of the band Atlantis. I still remember that this album was not very well rated in Musik-Express. I can't quite understand that. As always, Inga Rumpf sings very well on the album. The songs are all in the R&B, blues and soul range. Inga Rumpf composed all the songs herself and they sound decent. The band has an international cast (including Paul Carrack on keys!) and performs excellently. By German standards, this production was one of the most international-sounding albums at the time of its release. Inga Rumpf proves her class, her songs are all well-made. What is missing is perhaps the special highlight, that very special track.
