Bluesnake
Bluesnake from Turku, Lithuania, has been together for three years.
The first album came out in early 2018. The material was canned
as a studio live without auto-feel and other gimmicks.
The band announces that they play a lot of blues standards, but always with modern
with grip, sound and attitude. The debut album contains a pleasing amount
original material. Of the nine songs, all are their own except
an electrified version of Robert Johnson’s piece “Me and the Devil”.
“While the streaming trend is growing, we wanted to make a physical disk that can
takes the music shelf over and over again, ”the band says in the cover texts.
Robert Lumme (guitar and vocals), Marco Boogieman will play on the Bluesnake
(bass) and Mika Veijalainen (drums).

“Serpent Stories” represents Bluesnaken well
policies. The effect of role models is heard. “Happy
The Blues ”effortlessly reminds me of Stevie Ray
Vaughan and “Love That Woman” Otis
Rushin. Also riff - driven blues rock and
the soul-rolling songs work
quite nicely, without surprises.
Of course, there is also unique material.
The opening song “Everyday” runs in an exciting,
in a lingering mood. Lumpeen
the guitar sound appeals, and the man doesn’t oppress too much
to order. The band also has a message:
the text deals with the evil of the world; if
this place wants better, is the best
start by looking in the mirror.
At the other end of the album “Everyone Loses”
creates a subtle atmosphere, like something
waiting for the inevitable. And human
the limitations of worldly trek lyrics
I wonder. “Put your hand in mine, tick tock
we’re drifting away; You’re just a guest
here, can’t stay, no one can. ”
That's how Lumme works
as a solo guitarist, singer, composer as
as a record producer. Singer and English
as a speaker he is not at his best (the same can be said for quite a few
Finnish artist), but the author is involved. Boogieman and Veijalainen
take care of their boxes with confidence. Veijalainen also wrote the songs
lyrics.
Bluesnaken's gig calendar is rare. There would be a lot of money and a need for densification.
Following the lyrics of the song “Everyday,” the blues snake could crawl
moving forward slowly and in stages, through local popularity. If work ethic
whispers and the inner circle likes, the doors will soon open to even bigger gigs.
