Grady Champion - Back in Mississippi Live (2008)

                                                                   Grady Champion
Grady Champion grew up on a farm in Canton, Mississippi, and had some success in Florida as a rapper.  Switching over to blues, Grady took up harmonica and later guitar.  From his early days as a blues singer, Grady has sought to mix fresh, high energy performances of blues standards with his original and topical blues and soul compositions.  He is a charismatic performer, beating 110 bands to win the International Blues Talent Competition in Memphis in 2010.  This self-produced album features Eddie Cotton on lead guitar and eight songs written by Grady.

"... Grady Champion kicks this one off in live, juke-joint fashion with a rowdy intro and Willie Dixon's "I'm Ready" and keeps the high energy going until the very end! ... This album rocks all the way through!  Grady rips up his own originals and covers with equal enthusiasm in his own trademark R&B James Brown style."  -- Curt Fillmore, Blues News
