With a name which sounds straight out of the Motown stable in the early Sixties, Barrence Whitfield put a white hot flame to r'n'b rock'n'roll in the Eighties and has barely let up since. "Dig Everything!" captures that fiery spirit. This 17 song collection of their original "Dig Yourself" album ('85) and "Call of The Wild" EP ('87) on Rounder comes with even more raw energy and finds its source material in obscure Fifties rock'n'roll sides and Sixties garage-band records. It was retro then and even more so now ... but it sweats energy and commitment out of every second of the songs. It's a wild one, man.
