In the Blues Band of Lubos Andrst, Peter Lipa worked from 1980 to 1986. This very popular band appealed to rock and jazz audiences by combining modern electric blues with elements of funky and jazz. His strength was mainly in live performances. In addition to the guitarist Luboš Andršt and Peter Lipa, the band's bassist Vladimír Kulhánek, accordionist Ondrej Konrád and saxophonist Jan Kubík (before emigration) formed a permanent member of the group.
